Dull race, pretty much boring in fact.
Frantisek with another killer first lap, Jörg once again salvaging maximum points but never came close to attacking the 63.
This track seems to be more of a test of material than anything else, the GP24s were way ahead of the field, the Japanese were even worse than usual.
For the first time in many weeks I was not at the edge of my seat at any point in this race.

I thought this race really showed the difference between the two bikes.
For sure. What is strange is he was getting good drive out of the last corner yesterday. I wonder if whatever was causing that puff of smoke when the ride height was engaged was costing him drive.

Yep good ride by Pecco and Bastianini. Not what I was hoping for but too much in hand for anyone else.
Ktm is still a bit behind Ducati. Only Acosta able to keep them honest but onlh early on. Without Acosta they are well back.

Worst race of the season so far, I was waiting for an error up front to spice up the race a little bit but nothing. Despite Pecco's commanding win, I think Enea is the MVP of the race, great last couple of laps by him and Martín won't be happy about it. I expected Marc to come alive in the last laps but the medium rear never woke up (he had also some weird issue with rear tire smoke in the last corner).

Main takeaway is that Pecco is on fire and Martín's lead is eroding. Now we wait a month for the next race.

That's true. If you watch camera from the bike that Acosta was closely following, you will see that many times Acosta used to turn the bike faster than the bike ahead.

Acosta's tighter lines really showed today. When we get to tracks with tighter corners he is going have a good shot at his first win.

Indeed a boring race, I had a feeling that Bagnaia would make it so. The main thing I noticed was the difference between the GP24 and every other bike. I was expecting a bit more from Aprilia and KTM but this race showed that there is still a wide gap in performance.

Josep Lluis Merlos: The smoke on @marcmarquez93's bike is a problem on the Ducati 23 that has been fixed on the 24. The holeshot goes so low that the tyre touches the "wheel arch" when going down to the maximum.

Was more akin to a Formula One race than a MotoGP race today.

Kept waiting for action to happen that never did happen.

Enea at least made it look halfway decent at the end there though. Beautiful overtakes on both Marc and Jorge.

I don't know what else to say about the race really since it was just processional after things settled down at the start. Maverick disappeared once again. Marc never looked to really have the pace today so I reckon a P4 finish is pretty solid all things considered.

Pecco rode well. I think we may get another comeback title fight this season. JM didn't really look comfortable the whole weekend in spite of starting where he did and finishing where he did. He needs to figure something out.

Holeshot is used only once per race. The smoke, I am watching the race and could see only one time smoke coming out from Marquez bike. In 6 previous races no one have seen it. Despite the issue the GP23 won all 2023 races except 2 for Aprilia, so I think the issue could be minor.

Edit: sorry some races won by GP22.
There you go.

Maverick was the only one who used the medium rear, everyone else was on the soft.

I feel like the gap from Ducati to the others has grown again. Apart from Pedro the other KTMs are nowhere near the front of the pack.

Could you point out in which area GP24 is better?
Yes, they have the current 2 best riders onboard.

It's funny how some guys conveniently ignore Pecco and Martin (and also Enea who was in his home race) as responsible for the great GP24 performance to try to justify why MM is not winning. Last year the same two riders was onboard the GP23, supposedly a worse bike than the GP22, and they together won 90% of the season races.

Give all the Ducati riders the GP24 and both Pecco and Martin would still be winning and leading the tables exactly as they are now.
