2024 MotoGP Round 7: Gran Premio d'Italia Brembo - Mugello

Every time I start warming up to one of the VR46 riders, he says/does something stupid to undo all the process in one stroke.
I'm telling you guys. Pecco is Vale without the charisma. He is more like the ranch father than any other VR46 rider. If Rossi was the Doctor Pecco is the Candy striper.

DAMN IT!
Jörg throws it away, mistakes like this one are the reason why I don't see him as tge championship favorite over Frantisek.

Jorge choked, simple as. Sprint not as exciting as the previous one, Pecco ends his bad Saturday streak, Marc couldn't close the gap but tomorrow he starts further ahead. Pedro always the top KTM whenever he doesn't throw it down, but Binder did an alright race even if he lost steam at the end. Morbido with his best showing of the season. I don't know how Oliveira evaded steward action there, his move on Quartararo was somewhat optimistic methinks but I'm sure some will disagree.

Great race, Pecco comes through! Martin folds after a great clean Marquez pass. Acosta finishes the race on the podium. It’s going to get interesting.

Going to get interesting? (insert smilie).

Seriously, Acosta is so impressive and so freaking consistent.

If Schmarquez gets his starts down, he REALLY will be a coin-toss away from the championship.

Feel bad for Bastininni. He seems broken.

If Vinales, Binder and Mustache Boy go to WSBK, I might have to start watching again.

BTW - so tired and disgusted with ......., motormouth, drama-queen commentators trying to amp up the excitement by repeatedly blagging on about the possibility of Pecco crashing on the last lap. ....... passive-aggressive horseshit. They need to just shut the .... up and comment on what is actually happening, and not be compelled to fill every second with the sound of their voices.

Both Pecco and Marc doing their utmost to keep the tension in the championship as high as possible, chapeau!

Acosta, Binder and Viñales ready to capitalise if the front three get injured. Another solid race from Digga!

Martin crashing out seems to be par for the course with these guys. As long as he stays upright tomorrow, he should be okay losing some points as long as he is bagging points. But the inconsistency he and Bagnaia have is maddening to watch. I think Marc is taking the right approach, just keep scoring points every single sprint and GP. The wins will come at some point, but to only be 32 points down in the championship with not a single win is impressive stuff. I hope he can start closing the gap because it'll give us some real fireworks as the season progresses.

Not sure what Oliveira was even trying to do with that move on Fabio. But the Yamahas really had no pace today which is pretty much what I had expected to begin with.

Binder had a great start and then died. I thought Pedro rode a great race, thought though he'd be at the front of the pack, but perhaps that'll be in tomorrow's race.

Disappointed with the Aprilia's not really doing much of anything as I thought this was going to be a good circuit for them, but perhaps not. Another front row start squandered by Maverick. It'll never change.

Hope tomorrow's race is exciting. A lot of great potential for fights at the front.

They were shown hugging on the grid right before the warm-up lap.

Nauseating stuff.

But I think you may have a point. He is entirely devoid of charisma, but seems to have the other characteristics.

I can't deal with any of them at this point. It's all a big circle jerk in that camp. Rossi truly was the worst thing to ever happen to GP racing.

I think Marc still has a good shot at the championship this season for the reason I said he would. Marc's worst races are going to be better than Pecco and Jorge's. All 3 will crash. If Marc crashes less he will take the title with consistency. If not for Pecco taking him out and a brake issue in Austin he'd be leading the championship now. He will only get stronger.

Good point forgot about those lost points from Austin and Portimao.

While yes he is certainly closer to the end of his career than the beginning, I don't really understand the people who continue to think he is finished. He's on last season's bike keeping up with the current season's bike. It's mind-blowing to watch. Both Pecco and JM are fast riders, but I've been wondering at this point, how fast are they really when compared to Marc? I think he'd be over 200 points in the championship table if he had a GP24.

I am calling it now. Marc wins tomorrow and the valleys of Tuscany fill with Italian tears.
If Marquez wins tomorrow, on Italian soil, the spitefulness from the Italian camps will definitely ramp up. Half my family is from Naples. I can say with some authority, Italians tend to be sore losers. Hence my not being surprised at Rossi’s pettiness and vindictiveness.

And he looks to be in a mode he has managed previously, he hasn’t looked like making a riding error (touch wood) for several races now, beautiful clean passes etc.

With some encouragement from Senna’s Carress (a new poster whom I esteem highly btw) I might have over analysed Bagnaia’s and MM’s attitudes this weekend in terms of implications for future riding gigs. It is more than possible that Bagnaia has been charged up to be particularly anti all things Marquez by the presence of his godfather/ranchfather in the pits. Agostini was around as well looking rather more dignified.

@michaelm

I agree that I believe Rossi is probably winding Pecco up. But I feel that could backfire because it could put more pressure on Pecco to try and stay in front of Marc Marquez. Marc's race pace looked ominous during FP. So it's possible he may find himself being pushed to the limit. I was impressed with the drive Marc was getting out of the final corner. Had excellent acceleration to pull away even if he couldn't quite catch Pecco during the sprint.

If not for…….
Quite a few things could be different.

I will happily applaud any rider who wins a race and/or a championship cleanly.

How clean is clean? That is the question.

How clean are everybody’s hands? Of course there are many interpretations.

I don’t care about Pecco’s association with vr, who I personally despise. If he can rock like he did this morning, I am all for him going all the way.

Of course there will be some crashing but I am not wishing it on anybody or assuming who will or won’t. I’m not quite sure if there is any rider who hasn’t hit the ground this year.

Gestures, words, be my guest, all sports are full of them. Of course they are revealing about who utters them, that’s a given in life. I admire how MM does not indulge in that and how he ignores the camera when it’s on him in the box. It’s a warrior outlook that all of them should adopt. All those who want to be warriors that is……. Maturity will come for some, they are mostly all young still.

Looking forward to a good race tomorrow.
