How does Casey go about beating Rossi now...

Riders who want to win don't get there by being suck ups for the crowd ..... never has been like that.

I agree...and also by not crying like a little ..... when they get beat...

Its been done to death now.

Anyone with an ounce of gumption knows that its Stoner that makes the difference, and the combo packages of tyres, bike & casey jsut works.........otherwise we'd have 3 other ducati's at the front.

ive not read any posts yet but let it be known after watching rossi and casey battle at laguna i now have massive respect for casey. rossi cant rest at all ,not even with a 25 point lead. not when theres a rider like stoner on his case.

hey rog hope your us visit was good lolololo?

i agree mate i said that casey put up one hell of a fight, rossi pulled years of experience out of the bag to take that win.

even tho casey has the faster bike credit where its due casey give as good as he took.....legendry ride from both rider's.

i was pissed off when casey ran wide i wanted it to go to the line amazing....

Perhaps stoner was looking for "'sorry I nearly accidentally killed us both at the corkscrew" immediately before any comment about how great the race was. I don't think he will look for anything like that again. The fact is that despite an otherwise perfect race by rossi he did make that mistake, and if the other rider had not been casey stoner but say randy de puniet, the result of his mistake may have been different.

Rossi's race was the most tactically brilliant I and probably anyone else has ever seen. I am becoming less convinced it was strategically sound. He has now re-set the rules of engagement with someone who is younger and crazier than he is.

If you saw the pictures, Stoner knew Rossi was taking a trip down the dirt.
He didn't wanna give him any space to maintain momentum.. but Rossi did it anyway.

I think Stoner is just a bit like Lawson ..... there's a brief few words by Lawson in that Video Faster in which he described how he used to feel when he got second.

Its just how competitive folk get ....... the only thing is the "anti-stoner brigade" are attempting to cash in on it by declaring him a whinger whenever he says something there grandmother wouldn't like. Stoner is trying to be PC ..... but I don't think he's very good at it

I find it fun .... certainly a pleasant change compared to the years we've had for a while now where it seemed everybody was turning up for the fairy princess party.

I think Both Rog. and Jumkie had declared that copious amounts of alchohol were going to be consumed ......... Rog.s post is certainly so extraordinary that I would venture as far as to say that he is mid schooner whilst posting that.??

I quote Vince Lombardi (again)

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser".

I think Vale who is the 100% master of the sport has won the minds of most of the field who are happy to come second to him, ergo, they are good losers.

Casey is pissed off about coming second just as much as Vale is pissed off to come second and this is a battle heating up, Vale believes this is his year and he has the package but has to fight for it, Casey can ride but now he in turn has to fight. I hope someone slips an angry pill in Dani’s drink and three of them go at it, but it is going to be great just with these two.

Even as a Casey fan I can say that coming second to Vale like this is so good for him.

The Lawson quote is pertinent as in that era a lot of riders were winning races, there was good opposition to the championship winning rider whoever it was and none of them got it as easy as Vale has. The lack of a good fight in motogp has as much, if not more to do with Vale as Casey. The fact is that the rest of the field are prepared to make excuses for not beating either of them. Listen to a podium where Dani wins and Casey and Vale are in the minor positions, both will tell you it wasn’t good enough and next race they will be seeking to improve this. They are actually “competing” - this is profound given the acquiescence of the field in the last 5 years.

Valentino has only had one championship in the motogp era where he didn’t win the most races and he and Casey are even in wins at present this year.

I’m looking at this a renaissance of racing.

Love it.

With respect, you can't have it both ways. If rossi was in full control of his bike he wasn't entitled to take the line he did.

I think he knew where he was going, but he braked just a tad too late. The thing that most impressed me is that on a track where very few know how to pass, he basically created his own passing points to win. Cool stuff.

Hi Curve

I think people are forgeting Rossi won this Dog Fight at a Track where it is Extremly hard to overtake, to me the way Rossi had to ride to his Extreme tells me the Duke is still Well Above the M1 in overall performance, and when they get to the Wider Tracks in Europe coming up then there will be no where to block, and Stoner will just take Pole and blast away while Rossi gets his usual crap starts, he wont have a chance to try that blocking crap again.

On the other hand ive got to hand it too Rossi im a big admirer of Rossi talent, ghe was the smarter rider at Luguna thats all. Whats more dont underesimate Stoners ability to Fight, i dont think Casey would have ridden like Rossi did, without being biast i dont think he would have.
Now though i recken all bets are off, we may hust see a differant Stoner at Brno..

I think Dani is watching these guys and now he realises how hard it is going to be, and he wants to shout something out, but he can’t and its all inside now eating him up.

He has his sniper rifle and that bell tower at Brno would make a good vantage point….

I think this Lombardi quote covers our top 3. CS &VR have the confidence from racing each other.

Dani not being able to battle like they do, has the lack of confidence.

What the heck, why not ask it.

Why is it that the handshake is considered universally as a goodwill gesture or a mark of respect?
