Tough for Martin. if you dish it out to MM it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to get it served back to you.
MM looked delighted, he knows he can compete again. He had passed Vinales before his own mistake, but may have had trouble staying with him the whole distance anyway, very solid ride from Vinales, maybe he rides better when he is crook. Still a very good result for MM starting from 8th in a sprint race and, as several posters said pre-season, he might have a chance if Bagnaia and Martin continue to be as prone to errors as they have been in previous seasons, given MM is immune to pressure except from himself. I wonder when Bezzecchi is going to get close enough to MM to show him how to ride a Ducati.
I agree regarding Martin. What was nice about the overtake was it shows Marc is still an absolute demon on the brakes. Martin was not expecting that at all, but Marc used every last bit of front grip to get that bike stopped in time. Impressive stuff.
I think when he made that braking error that took him out entirely till Pecco made his error in T1. But I do agree with you that he might have a chance of Martin and Bagnaia prove to be prone to making errors as has been the case the past several years. Pecco is interesting with the errors, I thought he would have cleaned that up by now, but he continues to keep making them. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of errors from him this season. I'm sure Bezzecchi will eventually get near MM in a race. Well, one would assume anyhow, but he really seems at odds with the GP23. And as MM gets more and more comfortable on it, that's going to become a tall order.
One thing I will say again is that I'd love to know what the Ducati engineers did to get the GP24 to be even faster in a straight line than the GP23. The acceleration is incredible.
