Marc continues to impress with last year's bike when the rest of the GP23's cannot even get remotely close to him. When the season is over, someone should ask Bezzecchi about all of his comments from late last year and this year. He looks like a fool. Next season is going to be fascinating.
Haha. What did Bez have to say? I guess I should be visiting another thread all about how Marc is doing in 2024?

Word on the paddock is (Paraphrasing Ricard Jove here), Ducati allowed the GP23 to run 3 different flywheel configs, one of them that got multiple riders get close to the GP24 in performance; but that config destroyed M. Marquez’s engine in Mandalika, so they’ve limited the GP23 to only one configuration now.

It’s a config that M. Marquez can work with, but for all of the others it’s a big disadvantage. It’s bad enough for Diggia to consider skipping the remaining races to focus on his shoulder rehab.

Again, no official word on it, just Chinese whispers at this point.

Oh Pedro. You are the living embodiment of; "You cannot win the race in the opening laps but you can sure lose it." A bit of hubris in this boy and Bagnaia knows it. He set a pace and drew Pedro into a mistake. No substitute for experience.

How different this weekend might have been had Marc not suffered that BS track limits lap cancellation. "But but but, rules are rules" Yea? .... that. That tiny little strip of green paint after the bike has been stood up and throttle opened, is not making a difference. Hate that little chicken strip of green. Expected more from Enea at the end. Marc was setting some good times late in the race. Not sure even if he was on pole he could have held off Pecco and Jorge but who knows?

Honda wins the Japanese Cup. Mir is cursed. Martin did everything he could. Pecco just too good today.

Haven't caught up on all the posts. Still need to watch Moto2 and Moto3...........................although I know what happened with Alonso thanks to spoilers from MotoGP coverage.

I suspect that he would have ended up in third place, but via a different path.

Anybody noticed marc‘s left little finger looking funny?

After a minute or so of trying, I can't get my own finger into quite that position. Nor can I bend my thumb backwards like that either.

Well . . . he had a Bennette fracture about a year ago but that was to his thumb area. What it looks like (and I don't seriously "diagnose" it as such), is early onset of Dupuptryen's contracture, which can over time, turn one's hand into a useless claw. He had a pretty good smash up of his pinky finger a while back and that can cause arthritis in the joint. My left pinky finger looks like that all the time now for that reason. Unlikely to be Duputryen's Contracture tho, as its a condition affecting people with German, Norse or Italian heritage as a rule. Asians and Jews never get it. Never heard of a Spaniard having it.

My grand-aunt's finger looks the exact same after she tried to split a bunch of strawberries that were frozen together by ramming a knife into them.

Like Mike said, I doubt he's the only rider whose hands look like this. Injuries just accumulate over the course of a career.
It's not limited to motorcycle riders, I think this is incredibly common among volleyball players as well.

I have seen reports that they withdrew a component after MM’s engine grenaded, and some suggestion it was related to excessive wheelspin, but that it was flywheel related makes sense. Once again we benefit from your knowledge of Italian motogp matters..

I’d very much like to see a KTM 1-2 today but I doubt it.
I'd advise steeping 3-4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a cup of hot water and drink as you would tea. You then might see that KTM 1-2. The RC 16s may slightly resemble unicorns but that's a minor detail.
Onward to the best track on the calendar.
Indeed. I may have to watch that one live with you blokes.

Remember Stoner's first season on an uncompetitive bike?
Wasn't Jonathan Rea known for crashing whilst with Honda early in his WSBK career? He turned out okay.
