MotoGP: 2024 Round 2 Grande Prémio Tissot de Portugal

Wtf happened to Mav?
It’s blood lucky that Batiainni didn’t slam into the back of him. It looked inches away.

Aw maaaan Mav hasn't earned that.
Damn ride height device broke. Ban that .....

Great job by Jörg. I just hope he'll finish one place better in the championship than last year.

No he doesn't. He was in front and could not see Peccerhead. 100% on Baglady
He didn't need to see Bagnaia, Marc knew he was wide off the racing line, why would he expect Bagnaia to sit and wait for him to recover? Bagnaia took the opening that was there and Marc attempted to close the gap but he was too late. Racing incident but Marquez has some blame.

Well Marc does have some blame in that, but ultimately it's just a racing incident. Marc was wide and tried to close the gap but he was too late.
Zero blame on Marc. Franz tried to counter but he ran wide on exit and took both out.

Pecco was desperate. He didn’t have any pace and knew he needed to strike back straight away or Marquez may have cleared off. I think it is a racing incident but the rules have changed so much that racing incidents are now punished.

Race over; so let me go over the subject of contention first, I think it's a racing incident between #93 and #1, regrettable but I hope stewards don't come up with some bizarre punishment for either. None had the pace they hoped for.

Incredible race by Acosta, the kid is special and I didn't expect him to be this good so soon. He's already adding much excitement to the championship. Peerless race by Jorge, never a foot wrong and managed the gap like a robot. This is massive for his championship aspirations, first season he begins riding this well, usually he takes a while to achieve results. Bad sign for other championship contenders.

Old Enea seems to be back which is gonna cause a lot of mystery over that second Ducati seat. If he starts performing like it was expected of him, Ducati are going to have a proper headache (but a welcome one).

Pity for Mav, Aprilia reliability strikes again, I'll wait to see what caused the incident but it seemed like the height device getting stuck or something. These things need to be removed pronto.

Solid race by Quartararo, he'll want to fight for higher spots but step by step. Yamaha already looking halfway there in the process of rebuilding while Honda seem completely lost.

FWIW most people putting the blame on Pecco online. Where MM gets the blame from people it is usually laced with ‘nicknames’ and insults.

I think Mav either had a RHD failure (which has happened on the Aprilia before) or a transmission failure but when you see the shot from behind, his highside looks to be because the rear wheel locked up, not under power like a normal highside imo.

Marc/Pecco. Racing incident. Marc did cut back in tight but looking at the replay, pecco was opening up more than he needed to. Of course, Marc is going to get the hate for it over social media.

Great race by the top 3, glad to see the Beast is back and a thoroughly deserved podium for Acosta.

I don't know where Pecco was going, he could have avoided that entirely IMO. But drunk at the handlebars as usual. He's really got to work on bringing home the bike instead of engaging in pointless battles where the other rider is clearly faster by that point.

Pedro is fantastic. He was the only interesting rider to watch today really. Hopefully this continues and should show Pecco why you stay upright instead of eating pavement. Podium in only his second grand prix is incredible. He was my rider of the day and easily the best thing about today's race.

Martin rode well. But he needs that clear track to stay in front. Traffic is another story. But he's got a good lead now in the championship standings so he came out the best of everyone today.

Sucks for Mav, can't believe that happened on the last lap.

What happened to MM’s pace (and Peccos for that matter) both looked like they had pace all weekend and then neither were able to maintain the pace of the top 4. More Michelin QC issues?

Gutted for Mav. Sad that people say “Mav doing Mav things”, as that was not on him.
Racing incident between Pecco and MM, but still caused by Pecco.
Acosta seems to be the real deal!
Also, for Binder, it was a fortunate damage limitation. Whole weekend ruined by Qualifying. On the next one. He will be a contender.

I don't think by 3/4 distance that MM entertained any ideas of being on the podium, tho I got the impression he was saving tires and fuel mapping parameters for a 2nd to last lap charge. There was no sense of desperation from him, the way there was from Bagg-nuts. So ....... absolutely great to see Beasty Boy on the podium!!!

So . . . wondering, why has nobody made a Zamboni type machine for clearing off dust and drying rain from tracks?
