Wow, why didn't I think of that. Problem is when one reads the MotoGP race thread and gets spoilers for Moto2 and Moto3. Not all of us can sit and watch live or watch all 3 races at once. I know I am very much on my own island here but it kind of sucks not being able to read all of your comments and post about the MotoGP race because of Moto2 and Moto3 spoilers.
I'm late to the game.

Since I joined, the other sections seem to be dead.

I don't mind possibly 2/3/e on other sections. For it to work though, some admin need to implement it. Either moving or deleting posts.

I think it would be great to do like I said and have one thread for each all year. It would be great to be able to go back and recap the season but I could care less if they are included in the gp thread.

As I said, I'm on an island here so I'll continue as I have been. That said, I have a Moto2 question. How does Joe Roberts get a penalty but Aldeguer get off free as a bird?
Also, what's the beef between Roberts and his teammate Ramirez? Matt Birt alluded to it a couple of times.

I've said it many times before, I respect nearly all the riders on the grid even if I don't like them. Except one. Say it with me again Mdub:

"Marco Bezzechi is a ....... ...."

He has carved his whole identity into the VR46 koolaid and continuing the Rossi beef with Marquez. The problem is, he has no accolades to support his big mouth.

Gladly!

Totally agree about not liking riders but still respecting them. Except 3. I am sure you could guess who they are. Well 4 if you count that fat ....... ....... who never raced.

I thought it interesting when, after seeing the replays, Crafar still kind of skirted the issue of the crash, unless I missed something. Birt should have asked him point blank; "Okay mate, put your soon-to-be steward's cap on and tell how you'd rule on this one." Yea, I know that would never happen.

I have no problem with the incident. I have no problem with riders making heated comments after the fact. But the continuous one sided smear campaign for clicks is embarrassing. Some riders agree with Pecco some with Alex but the only ones they are writing articles about are the cult ......

That is the bottom line I think, it is pretty outrageous imo to postulate that AM deliberately rammed him. As I said as well, both riders thought they had the corner, and I can see both points of view. An argument can be made both ways in regard to the pass in general, there was no need for Bagnaia to make the pass just then, but I also wonder why riders who have been caught up by several seconds contest a position which it seems inevitable they will lose. I guess that is why it is called racing though.
Well I guess part of Marquez deciding to stay on that line is the same reason the Pecco wanted it as well, thats the only place there was grip.
There is a lot of goal post moving in regards to this though, people are saying that Marquez should have looked before he came back on the race line, as if he was rejoining the track. The simple answer is, he is allowed to take any line he wants and the overtaking rider must not cause unreasonable contact. I have seen people comparing Pecco's move to a block pass, which is all kinds of ridiculous.

For what it is worth I as a matter of pride or conceit don’t google to compose posts, although I will check precise facts on occasion. I have no need to look up Godwin’s law, basic knowledge for anyone who engages in debate.

I actually agree with you that people particularly me are excessively focussed on Rossi, but don’t think it is drawing much of a long bow to suggest Bagnaia’s attitude to Alex Marquez might be coloured by his mentor. To claim another rider deliberately crashed both of them out of a race is fairly outrageous imo, and a contention I doubt he would make if the incident had involved say Brad Binder.
My friend, you misunderstand. I do not in any way (I promise!) infer that you, or anyone over-references Rossi, or overestimates his malodorous influence on the sport. I only made the original post as a humorous observation. I was absolutely NOT taking a shot at you.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Not sure if they should have pushed him or not but I will miss Simon's analysis and insights next season.
He may not have been everyone's cup of tea, especially when he first started but he always had great insights IMO.

I could care less about spoilers but this is the motogp thread and there are moto2 and 3 pages on the forum. This use to be something we did not allow for people who watch the races out of order. I was just pointing out there is a way you can hide spoilers. If you would rather tell others what to do than more power to you.

don't be a ....
I have PM'd you.

It is also very hard not to talk about him when his protege's are giving the exact same attitudes etc as he was during his career. Whether that is his influence or it is simply an Italian cultural thing, I would not like to speculate.
Though, for Pecco's part, he hasn't spoken about it since him and AM spoke in person.

I have tried to be unbiased and can see both sides, which is why I take issue with the likes of Bezzecchi, particularly since when the Marquez who does have history with Rossi was in the reverse situation with Bagnaia and pulled out to avoid collision my sympathies were with MM.

My biased opinion is that the rider on the outside needs to complete his pass before the corner which Bagnaia clearly had not done or there wouldn’t have been contact. As Lex said the real bottom line is that AM thought he still had the inside line to the corner and that if Bagnaia wanted to come out of the corner ahead he needed to do so on the outside of him, Bagnaia thought he had already passed him and AM should cede the corner. I didn’t see anything suggesting AM was not going to negotiate the corner at his speed and trajectory until days after event, if it was a Rossi Gibernau last corner at Jerez situation that would change my view.

There is the stewards finding, that the condition of the track was involved as you also say and is undoubtedly true imo as well. Why on earth would the stewards be favouring a mid pack rider in AM over the defending champion who is not unlikely to defend his title ?.

Historical moments reached by Marc, so happy for him. He gave me goosebumps I swear...
Concerning that Crash between Alex and Pecco, I would say it's 50/50. Both of them choose to fight for all at this moment.
I don't trust AM when he said he didn't know Pecco was behind, it's obvious he has heard Pecco's engine after he gone wide ... BUT he was on the line at the next fatal corner. Pecco choose to overtake him by the outside and he just cut the line to AM. And this is not the first time Pecco did this kind of move (I remember he did the same to Vinales at Le Mans, and finished in the gravels).

Wow, such an important milestone for Marc in terms of his recovery. Incredible ride all weekend.

As for the PB and AM incident I think Pecco is very lucky he got out of it without serious injury. I feel like he was a little too impatient and underestimated the speed of AM who was on a tighter cleaner line. I put it mostly down to an unfortunate racing incident that involved split second decisions being made. Then I watched the following video with PB's thoughts. Holy ...., my opinion of him really lowered after hearing what he had to say about it. I would expect that type of opinion to come from a rookie, not someone with two premier class titles. I don't understand how he couldn't even consider the possibility of AM not being able to see him on the outside.
