You may be right. I'll watch some more.
But it looked to me like Marc wasn't just sandbagging but intentionally slowing to let Rossi pass so he could put another hard move on him. Instead of putting there heads down and catching the leaders. Like vale appeared to be begging Him to do.

Plus. Being the goat doesn't necessarily mean you win every race. Or does it?

But it still does not really matter as Rossi himself has 'played' with slower riders at times over the years and been roundly applauded for it.

Yes, the fact that this is a championship at stake is one thing, but at the same time Rossi must race those around him at the times and if he incapable of doing so without official assistance then he needs to reassess his tactic.

Was Marc in Rossi's way or was he simply faster than him in certain sectors? If Marc was supposed to give way to the championship contenders than why have them all line up at the same time? I suppose we need a staggered start. The first group are contenders and the second non? WTF is he talking about?

Exactly.

Whether someone is seen as 'playing' or not does not take into consideration the individual strengths and weaknesses of the bikes. At PI we saw that Rossi could place his Yamaha where ever he wanted and by doing so was able to perform 2 brilliant block passes on Marquez only to lose out to Marquez in the faster corners/straight

A race can often be like playing tug of war with an elastic band and Rossi knows that only to well.

don't remember him & Matt kicking each other off their bikes back then...

But Aaron Yates, well ..............

Good start but still weak. He should be suspended for the rest of the season, included post season test too. We cant have riders kicking others off their bike.

It is weak given that a few years back we did have a rider given a 1 race ban for knocking another off (cannot remember rider but remember victim was Gibbers)

Personally, I am a big fan of dollars and championship points losses at this time of year but I also know full well that again as with Capirossi it would go to a court and we do not want our championships decided in a court

Well a race ban would have been the appropriate penalty.

However, starting from the back of the grid ensures VR does not see that title.

All it will take is JL to DNF and that is not out of the question

Either way, what had promised to be an excellent year has yet another serious black mark and one that will have the old 'he only won because' sentiment to it.

Here we go! Presser is on!

Rossi bailed on the post race presser! What a fuking ........! He knew exactly what he did and can't answer to it. Damn, I didn't want to dislike this guy but now I'm not sure I can help it. I also don't want to admit that I've got to agree with Jumkie that Rossi is an ........

EDIT:

Wow, Lorenzo isn't holding back. Calling Rossi right out! Like I've said previously, the Rossi intimidation era is officially over. He'll have to win by finishing ahead of these guys now. His mind games are useless now. Clearly Marc wasn't scared and Lorenzo is calling his antics out. ...., even Dani just called him out. Fantastic!

I still think this is going to get cut down on appeal in a week and a half.

I cannot see Dorna being okay with the final race not being almost a winner-take-all affair.

Race stewards had to issue their penalty otherwise they risked looking spineless.

But 99% sure this is going to get cut down so VR has an opportunity to start from the first or second row.

Funny thing to me is if Rossi had kept his mouth shut earlier this weekend, he probably would have gotten away with what he did today. But since he had to go on about MM holding him up, that made it impossible to ignore when looking at this incident.

Since I have to think he will appeal, this is likely why he skipped the presser, as nothing good is going to come out of saying anything right now.

Action speaks louder than words. The pesa .... knows that he is guilty.

Rossi deliberately crashed out a fellow competitor. Automatic disqualification and suspended. RD entertaining anything less is criminal. Who ever arrived in 4th is the rightful podium winner.

As a Rossi supporter (not a Rossi bopper):

1) I think the race direction's decision is fair. We can discuss about it, but it's fair. I hope the Yamaha's appeal won't make any difference.

2) I even hope, in a slightly masochistic way, that JL wins the championship, instead of spending the rest of his life accusing Valentino.

But I also add:
3) Marquez prooved Valentino right. And this says a lot about both him and JL.
