Whew ..............

question: has anybody ever seen anything half as bad?
i can totally , and factually, rationalize a lot of .... that looks way worse than it actually was.

but this is sofuoglu stuff on steroids

Yes, there have been a few similar or more severe.

Capirossi on Harada for one

Agreed....was Biaggi penalised for pushing Rossi of track with his elbow all those years ago or disqualified? No....and that move was clearly deliberate and dangerous....

Max (from memory) was issued an official caution after there was a complaint lodged.

This move is (IMO) not directly comparable as both riders remained upright in Max v Rossi

haha brit journalism at its very best again.
"it doesn't matter what penalty vale gets.we all just hope they remain in striking distance to each other at valencia, we all want to see a championship decider"

well, ........, we just saw the decider. god am i happy theres no overseas races this year and i don't have to put up with this .....

But the highlighted section does seem to give the journalists opinion already so now the rest is up to the money makers

FRAME BY FRAME ANALYSIS indicates Marquez touched Rossis knee with his helmet when Rossi moved his knee.

But why was VR looking backwards over his left shoulder when he had effectively already past?

Generally when racing, once you have taken the rider your focus is forward.

To me, and only to me Rossi's head position is of concern

No, I don't think MM holding up VR justifies Rossi's response... however I understand that it would've pushed Rossi over the edge and he snapped. Think if the situation was reversed and MM was almost neck and neck with J Lo for the championship and Rossi was purposely holding him up. What do you picture MM doing?

Which, if true makes Rossi an extremely dangerous motorcycle racer as (if true) he would seem to not be able to hold his emotions and thus act in a potentially dangerous manner to or with his competitors

If this is true, Rossi should leave the sport for his safety and that of those around him.

But I suspect that it is not true

ROSSI HAS GOTTEN 3 PENALTY POINTS, AND WILL START AT THE BACK OF THE GRID IN VALENCIA

Good start but still weak. He should be suspended for the rest of the season, included post season test too. We cant have riders kicking others off their bike.

After looking at a slo-mo, it looks to me almost as if, while being ran wide, Marc laid into Vale, and Vale shoved him off with his knee. Jeremy McWilliams has the video on Twitter. And no Rossi at press conference.

Well a race ban would have been the appropriate penalty.

However, starting from the back of the grid ensures VR does not see that title.

It's not how I was hoping the season would play out...turns the final race into an anticlimactic affair. However, this may be a blessing in disguise since I could have seen the same thing happening next weekend.

I'm wondering if VR will appeal, then at the 11th hour, we'll see the back of the grid thing negated. I have this feeling that the back of the grid thing is being done to quell outrage in the short-term. But we've got 2 weeks till Valencia, and I can see this changing by then.

Where are you guys getting the information about the penalty points and decision to start Vale from the back of the grid?

don't be surprised if they change it to a 5 sec or 10 sec penalty for todays race which sees vale going into the decider with a points advantage lining right next up to jorge...if he can get close that is.

the question is: how can this incident be used to hype up the finale as much as possible?

The funny thing in all this is that the "GOAT" wasn't fast enough to race alone like Dani and Lorenzo (in fact, he's been constantly slower than Lorenzo on like equipment). Instead, he needed to earn every corner and was unable to do so. His patience for needing to race hard lasted only a few laps. Between this public failure and the episode at Ducati, I think a credible argument can be made for stripping him of this GOAT title. He is indeed facing the most talented riders of his career. It started with Stoner and is ending with Marc and Lorenzo. Some here forget that Stoner routinely beat Rossi by 5 or 6 seconds.

The true GOAT wouldn't need to resort to this kind of behavior both on and off (pre race presser) the track.

I haven't found it either. Nor am I getting the press conference on the MotoGP web site feed. Just the "coming soon" screen.

Rossi's Ducati flop was so great for someone who had seen the Rossi fans' behavior on here in '08 and '09. Stoner won the war. Rossi's failure showed Stoner had been working magic for years.

If #46 is the GOAT, then what is #27?
