Every race thread turns into Sepang 2015.

This thread was going along just fine till Steve decided to derail it with his "proof" that Marquez pulled a "Sepang".

I'll tell you what Dani, why not offer something so we can talk about something else instead of merely commenting about something that does nothing to move forward conversation?

The other problem being that Valentino himself brought up late season 2015 pre-race, and Sepang 2015 specifically post-race, saying he had no problem with the battle between him and MM at Silverstone. I would take this as prima facie evidence that he at least didn't think he was kicked at Silverstone, although I doubt the contrast he intended to draw was in regard to the presence or absence of kicking in the respective races.

This is precisely why Steve is grasping for straws on this one.

A kick would be Rossi's version of the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket as it would now give full credence to everything he claimed about Phillip Island and beyond with regards to Marquez purposefully trying to ruin his championship.

This discussion about the phantom kick confirms my suspicion that the VR fanbase at large still can't let go of what happened in 2015...which on some level is absolutely glorious as that final quarter of the season was some of the finest racing I've ever witnessed bar the Sepang incident. It shows how little that contingent appreciates racing as even if you don't like Lorenzo, you should be able to appreciate what he did. They don't, and never will.

Steve, help me understand what we are debating here buddy.

1. Do you think Marquez kicked Rossi in this video you posted?
2. Do you think Marquez should be penalized for something? If so what?

1. Impossible right? His foot must have just slipped. Some on this forum are 100% sure. Just as they were 100% about the Rossi "kick."
2. He should be tried for attempted murder right?

Actually. Who really knows? BArry didn't see any sort of kick at all. (He took the video so personally he called me a proper ...... or some .... like that. I'm sure it sounds like "wankuh" when he says it. I'm hurt.) While some others did.
I really just wanted to see the same guys who went soooo crazy to call out Rossi defend MM until the ears bleed.
I'm getting my wish.

I am entirely unsure whether Rossi deliberately kicked MM at Sepang 2015, but his foot certainly contacted MM's bike in the process of an illegal move which took MM out of the race. Your point regarding Silverstone 2016 is?

Steve, you didn't answer my questions though.

Please answer the questions directly as statements, thnx.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

I'm actually not bothered by it.

Curious though what you think Daniboy.

..........
I saw the Moto2 race just yesterday, can someone explain why Zarco got a penalty? I get the part why the move was bad, going on the curbing and all, but .... these guys make minor mistakes with consequences all the time, why was this singled out? Zarco isn't a repeat offender. Think of mistakes at the start of a race when mistakes are made for example, seemed like a run of the mill racing incident.
I am posting a long, re-directed answer.

A. Maybe he should have appealed, since his brake guard broke. It looked worse than the original error.
Oh, and Lowes said it was intentional. ROFL What a dumb thing to say.
B. Do not take out the local favorite while he/she is contending for the win.
C. He ain't Rossi.
'C' leads me to the following concerning the incident and the over-sensitive, deranged rehashing of every little thing regarding anyone near Rossi.

Why should we stop with going back to last year with the conspiracy theorists insisting that Rossi is such a wimp rider that he can't pass a slower racer because he was blocked from his god-given-right for 10 GP championships?

Let us go back to 2005, please. And let us watch one of the most obvious and despicable displays of aggressive riding, ever. While I had questioned other moves by VR, this one has made me see him in a different light, ever since. Nasty sob.

And there you have it. Zarco ain't Rossi. ;)

Absolutely. Watching the race with no horse in the race, from afar with no knowledge back then that Rossi had a curse to enforce, in fact as a somewhat lukewarm Rossi fan who had given some credence to the anti-Gibernau stuff, as I previously had to the anti-Biaggi stuff because of Max's antecedents with Mick Doohan, my immediate impression was that Rossi just rode into Sete.

Probably Jerez 2005 and Sepang 2015 are the only unequivocally dirty moves of Rossi's rather long career though. Most of my current animus against him is because of off-track stuff.

This.

Also I'll add that the key difference is Marquez and Rossi were racing for position at Silverstone yet as Sepang Rossi's sole intention was to push Marquez off the track/line.

Thanx. What do you mean "re-directed answer"? Was this copy and pasted from somewhere it was posted? Just curious since Lil Red asked Shovel to post on Whatsapp.

The penalty seems utterly undeserved. Which begs the question, how would this "new" Race Direction handled the deliberate non-racing maneuver that caused a fellow competitor to be dangerously taken out of a race. But, your post alludes, probably exactly the same way as the "old" race direction, because, well there is a different standard for Rossi.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

The photo shopped leg on the cover of that videos makes me laugh every time its posted on this forum.
Not to mention Rossi is kicking Loris in the pic? Ah the irony.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

1. I cannot say yes or no for certain.
2. Yes. Banned for liiiiiiife!!! For maybe kicking VR!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh ..... Is Barry gonna slap me with a glove now and challenge me to a duel?

Would love to hear your take on the Zarco move, WASSAP it if you have time.

Btw, why are you asking Shove to post a racing opinion on Whatapp? I want to read his opinion too brother, dude has some great insider info. Is there SOME SECRET WHATSAPP GROUP or something? Can I join? Or at least cut and paste Shov's extended WhatsApp take on the forum so I can read it.

So there's a secret WhatsApp MotoGP Forum chat going on?

What's that about?

1 Not sure, his leg moved but the video angle isn't really showing enough to prove if it was a kick or a reaction to Rossi leaning on him.
2 I do think he should have been penalised for the run off track that he made, he cut the corner and lost no time whatsoever, imo it was a let off.
