I think it crazy but after watching what Jorge did, I have to just watch and see.
I wince at the thought of him under heavy braking.
The humerus is a more important bone than the clavicle, but Jorge’s clavicle was shattered while MM’s fracture seems to have been a single non-comminuted break. I still think Jorge not only riding but circulating in a podium position for most of the race 2 days after the clavicle was plated was ridiculous and one of the most impressive feats I have ever seen from a sportsmen.
Who knows with these guys ?. It should be stable/functional with a plate in, the pain is the thing, possibly not something which worries MM as it would a normal mortal, but he absolutely cannot fall off the bike again, it was the 2nd fall which ended Jorge’s title challenge In 2013, and I wonder whether MM can ride differently than his normal style; he has at times looked more likely to crash when he attempts to ride conservatively, cf PI 2017. No fully leaned over saves I would have thought though.
