I think it crazy but after watching what Jorge did, I have to just watch and see.

I wince at the thought of him under heavy braking.

The humerus is a more important bone than the clavicle, but Jorge’s clavicle was shattered while MM’s fracture seems to have been a single non-comminuted break. I still think Jorge not only riding but circulating in a podium position for most of the race 2 days after the clavicle was plated was ridiculous and one of the most impressive feats I have ever seen from a sportsmen.

Who knows with these guys ?. It should be stable/functional with a plate in, the pain is the thing, possibly not something which worries MM as it would a normal mortal, but he absolutely cannot fall off the bike again, it was the 2nd fall which ended Jorge’s title challenge In 2013, and I wonder whether MM can ride differently than his normal style; he has at times looked more likely to crash when he attempts to ride conservatively, cf PI 2017. No fully leaned over saves I would have thought though.

MM riding at Jerez a possibility:

If there's a hint of a chance, I wouldn't be surprised if he at least gave it a go on Day 1 to see how it feels. Crazy!

It would be foolish and dangerous for him and the other riders. He goes down again and hurts himself who cares, right? He goes down and hurts another rider, back to Murder Marc persona, then and ruins their chances for a good season...

Is it worth the risk? No, in my view.

Would it be impressive or just stupid to for Marc to race this weekend...its not uncommon for him to crash in free practice.

He was declared fit to ride and it probably going to do it. If he wants to risk it all, then so be it. If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Hes been given the green light to ride, so lets see...If i were Fabio, Maverik and Dovi, I'd stay clear of him during practice so as not to get caught up with MMs mistakes....

That final turn hard braking after a few laps will take its toll....

Common man is laying up.
Sportsman is dreaming a comeback.
Superman is getting leathers to fit a cast.

Marquez is dialing his lap in mind, he knows he can, inside his head.
I feel he'll run laps in practice, but not contend the race. Sensibility will reign.

If he feels he can race, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a p5 finish. He's that good, and we've all seen how mentally strong the lad is.

I just hope he don't hurt himself further or others on track.

I do wonder what type of fixation they used. Was it plating alone or a combination of intra-medullary fixation as well as plate and screws. Amazing that he's declared fit to ride.

Injured front-runners have shown great ability to finish well in races despite their injuries. I don't expect any different from Marquez, especially him.

His normal pace this morning is about 2 seconds off the pace of leaders. His final best time was only good enough for 19th. Let's be honest he is doing himself more harm than good by even trying.... 26 lap race in extreme heat will take its toll on him and make him a danger to himself and others....no miracle podium this weekend...sorry.

Sorry Doctor Migs, but history dictates somewhat champions will ride at any cost. Rainey admitted riding with a concussion and double vision at Donington 93. He finished second, still not happy because he wanted first. Mick Doohan shocked everyone in 92 when he made a desperate attempt to keep his championship hopes alive despite having no feeling in the leg. He finished in front of half the field of fully fit riders. Think about that for a second.
There is little evidence of what you contend, of injured riders presenting greater risk to other riders. And in this case Marquez is well below what I have mentioned above. Probably more the opposite, injured riders are less of a risk, it’s only logical.

You have performed the medical assessment of Márquez, or at least bore witness? No? Well, you don’t know anymore than I do whether he is concussed, unable to hold on to the handlebars, physically unable to withstand the stress. In fact only one person really knows, that’s Márquez.

You are right....and he knows he cant and should not race....hence why he dropped out of the race tomorrow.

Sensibly Márquez called quits, yet it would be foolish and dangerous for Brit Cal Crutchlow to attempt to race only days after an operation to repair a fractured right scaphoid wouldn’t you say Migs? Gee I hope Rossi stays well away from him.

As you said, only they know their limits.....Cal can decide for himself...
