Here are my predictions for 2025, which I wish to make before testing tomorrow.

MotoGP

1. Marc Marquez
2. Bagnaia
3. Martin

I think that MM93 still has it, and the 'it' is a bit better than what Bagnaia has. I don't think that Bagnaia's home-team (effectively) advantage will be enough to overcome that. Martin will do well, and it will be an achievement if he finishes ahead of the KTMs as I predict. But, I think he will be a bit of a distant third.

Moto2

1. Aron Canet
2. David Alonso
3. Manuel Gonzales

I think that Canet finally has it all sorted out, and he will remain favourite for the title. With quite a few more wins. Alonso will take some time to adapt, but like Acosta he will have wins in his debut year. But, I don't think he's going to win the championship first time out. I'd be very happy and impressed to be wrong. Hard to pick a third place. I'm not sure that the Boscoscuro is going to be the advantage next year that it was at the beginning of this year - so I've left out Boscoscuro riders. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong.

Moto3

1. Angel Piqueras
2. Dennis Foggia
3. Joel Kelso

Moto3 is, I think, the hardest to predict. There will probably be some new unknown-to-me rookie who will impress, and/or someone who failed to impress last year who moves forward considerably. Piqueras has the raw talent and I expect his experienced team will be able to tame that a bit. For second and third, I think it's a bit of a crapshoot. But, I want to name somebody. Returning back to a previous level is sometimes unimpressive as the rider has gone off the boil in a sort-of Sergio Garcia manner. But, I'm going to put Foggia second. For 3rd, it could be anyone from a long list. I put some riders in and took them out again. ... Some riders like Furusato need to learn and improve to be nearer the front by years' end. But, I'll put Kelso there. Not quite sure why over, say, Munoz. But, I want to make a decision and post.

I'd be happy to see others post their predictions.

This is a great off season thread.

MotoGP:
1. Marc
2. Frantisek
3. Pedro

Ducati not having the best bike on the grid would be a shock so I fully expect their factory riders to finish 1-2 in the championship.
I see Marc ahead but it should be close. Frantisek has known the team and the bike for years and let's not forget he won 11 races this year.
Yet I see Marc ahead on pure talent.
If it turns out to be an all out war between the two it should also turn in Marc's favor.
Pedro has shown a speed no one else on a non-Ducati came close to and with Ajo's mentoring I expect the number of crashes to decrease significantly.
I think Yamaha and Honda will continue to recover. Fabio I think will make the Top 10 in the final standings and beat the lead Aprilia.
Honda will have at least one rider (Zarco) in the Top 15.

Moto2:
1. Canet
2. Alonso
3. Moreira

There are once again a lot of candidates but no obvious ones. And because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if once again no one has a clear edge for most of the season and once Alonso has this class figured out he'll win a bunch of races.
Or I'm completely wrong and he'll struggle and finish 20th in his rookie season.
Canet was the best rider in the second half of this season and if he carries over that pace and remains consistent 2025 should be his year.
Moreira had some impressive runs this season, I was surprised he finished only 15th in the championship. The bigger bike really seems to suit him.
The rest of the Top 10 in no particular order could be Arbolino, Vietti, Dixon, Roberts, Garcia, Lopez and Gonzalez but I don't see either of them having a real 3+ win breakout season
Of the rookies, I'd expect Veijer to adapt to the bigger bike quicker than Ortola or Holgado.

Moto3

1. Piqueras
2. Rueda
3. Furusato

Piqueras had a great rookie season on the supposedly inferior Honda and will be on a KTM next year. My money would be quite clearly on him.
Rueda and Furusato have a lot of potential but weren't able to string together a season yet. I'd expect them to be a lot closer next year. Don't see anyone running away with the championship Alonso style.

There still a few open seats on the grid with teams most likely waiting for the JuniorGP championship to play out.

Piqueras is changing team? Oops. I didn't look out carefully enough for that. I'm not going to change my prediction - I wanted it to be one and done. It might come out to be true for the wrong reasons :D

As we all know, anything can happen to affect the top 3 positions but one thing I believe will be evident is, Enea and Mav are going to struggle on the KTM. At this point, it feels as if Mav is riding for a pay check and Enea is coming from the best bike on the grid. We shall see if he has the ability to adapt. While I believe Martin can bring the Aprilia a step forward, I do not see him at the sharp end of the championship battle. Digi could be the wildcard if he can stay healthy.

KTM brought a new Moto3 bike for this year.
Now that the new Honda engine isn't exploding, the bikes seem reasonably similar in performance. Not identical by any means, but I believe that the right rider can win the championship on the Honda. Particularly now since David Alonso is no longer in Moto3.

I think its is an accurate assumption that it will be Marquez and Bagnaia competing for the championship. But who will emerge as the best of the rest? KTM seemed to take a step back in 2024, Aprilia seemed to have a good package early on in 2024 but lost pace. Both Honda and Yamaha had bad years, but there were glimpses of hope for both manufactures, so my bold prediction for 2025 is that the Japanese manufactures take a major leap forward early in the season.
