No because Rossi always races better than he qualifies.
Ah I see your point. During the SNS Era VR was wining regularly 10 races a season. No more SNSs, in 2013 he won 1 solitary race, 2014, he won 2 (let's shelves the rain anomaly), this season he's won 4, sounds awesome right? Until you realize the lead rider crashed out gifting Rossi a couple of wins. By "racing better than he qualified" you mean 'thanx Marc for crashing'.

The SNS Era has been replaced by the MCA era. (Marc Crashed Again). Both eras have been very productive for Rossi's win tally.

Yes but when these gifts happened he was in a higher position than he qualified.

You got me. Marquez really wants his bitter rival and fellow countryman to win the title and carry that confidence into next year. You convinced me.

Haha, No! Thumpas will not like this. Actually JP, that phantom hand signal was really Marc trying to loosen that hand tied behind his back, right Krops? 'Ironically' it was misinterpreted by some that Marc was trying to help Rossi.

Its a bit convoluted, but Marc was trying to slow down Rossi by then catching up to Lorenzo, then he remembered the mastermind scheme he had developed to destroy Lorenzo's confidence, so he dropped back, tried to put Rossi on his back, but understand that's a bit difficult when you only have one arm free. At some point Iannone thought the had signal was for him, but nop, wrong Italian. Marc realizing the slower Rossi couldn't keep up bolted to the front and reluctantly won the race.

lol

I could actually buy the MM holding up Rossi intentionally thing since it's more than obvious MM had the pace to blow Lorenzo away based on how easily he closed the gap on the final lap, and then passed.

Yeah Rossi and Iannone were scrapping, but it was like MM hit the nitrous button with the distance he finished in front of them.

I already explained how your convoluted theory simply holds no weight based on everything we've seen from MM and how he actually thinks.

Ah, proof then of the SNS 2.0 tires (Season New Specials). Would explain why he's doubled his win total from 2 last year to 4.

A Yamaha will win the title. And I GUARANTEE you that Marquez has a preference as to which one it is. And if circumstances allow him to influence that preference, he will take it.

Maybe he'll torpedo Rossi for a third time to "help" him. That'll show Lorenzo he means business, eh.

Considering that at times this year Rossi and Marquez weren't talking while Lorenzo and Marquez have been joking around I don't think he wants Rossi to win the title more than Lorenzo he probably doesn't really care and is more interested in winning more races than either Rossi or Lorenzo and having a kind of moral Victory.

His relationship with Rossi went south after Assen. But then again, so many of Rossi's friendships do when he decides the tables have been turned on him.

I've always found that little fact very interesting. I can't think of another rider who has a bitter rivalry with different riders so often.

That thought totally reminds me of a pekuliar member here.

Sete
Biaggi
Stoner
Lorenzo
Marquez

(I would've added Nicky, but the .... came more from the Yellow Army rather than VR himself).

Unless Thumpa is right and Marquez wants to help him by slowing him down, battling, and torpeding.

Btw, when Stoner won his championship, he dawned a shirt that listed all his heroes, one of the names was Rossi. I've always remembered this when thinking about what an ....... Rossi and his fans turned out to be with him. And the irony that no greater moaning was ever heard during the two years at Ducati, not only by Rosie, but goddammmn fans.

What it always said to me was that Rossi was at his core a highly insecure guy. Smart and talented yes, but very insecure. I feel the insecurity is what has driven him to compete well after many would have retired. Stoner was content with his life and didn't need the limelight to find contentment. Rossi's playing to the crowd I think is more about needing to be liked than anything else. While amusing, it's sophomoric in many instances.

Thats more likely. He's getting podiums from the second row and third row thats all I know. They either never existed or still exist.

They never existed. That's more likey.

Btw, off topic, have u heard Rossi has had trouble adapting to the new 15 min qualifying format?

I haven't. But then again the only rider that I think would have liked it doesn't race anymore. He fishes.

Plenty of .... has changed since SNS's.

Fuel limit drastically reduced. 5 engines per season. Electronics through the roof

Some of the .... written here is fracking hilarious.

How about some of you pop over to Sepang and tell Rossi how .... he is. Shoot it for us and post when your done.

Why u so mad bro. Valentino Dornaossi 2015 World Champion. You get your lucky title by design, be happy.

How many doctored titles equal a legitimate one?

No, but he qualifies 3rd row then gets to the front and battles for the win - it's basically the same degree of improvement.

With all due respect, in the mid 2000's you had a LOT more bikes running at the front than you do now. Along with the current Repsol Honda's you had the 2 Gresini Honda's, at least 1 Camel Honda (until 2005), 2 competitive Ducati's and the occasional Suzuki/KR bike thrown in for good measure (so lets say 6/7 bikes). Now, Rossi realistically has 3 rival bikes, sometimes 4 when Iannonne decides he wants to podium so getting from row 3 to the front isn't as hard, especially when currently a number of bikes that qualify on row 2 and 3 are running the softer option that fades in the race.

But Rossi fans always quickly forget/dismiss that Jums ;)

Not to mention 2007: Waaa I want Bridgestones. 2010: Waaa I want preferential number 1 over a rider currently beating me or I go to Ducati. 2011/12: Waaaa I want to go back to Yamaha..
