I suppose he was concerned about the momentum going Bagnaia’s way with 3 wins in a row, but if his tyres were shot and he was on the ragged edge 20 points would have been a lot better than none at this stage of the season, and Bagnaia now has the momentum of 4 successive Sunday race wins.
Well happy summer everybody, see ya after the break.
For sure I’m disappointed with Martin crashing out. He has no one to blame but himself. I continue to believe Martin will continue to learn. Interesting to see the crowd observations here from some that every time he or Pecco crashes, it’s a choke but whenever MM crashes there’s an excuse. He has a .... bike or not the newest one, etc.
Whatever, I’ll move on for the next few weeks and hope for a good end to the season.
Cheers all!
Marini got his point, Augusto has been hit with a 16 second penalty.
And taking emotion out of it, you have to wonder if this is the very reason Ducati chose Marquez over Martin for the factory. After all, as has been repeated on here, they have a lot of data on both that we don't.It seems Martin doesn't seem to know how much to push early to save some tires unlike Pecco and Marc who are very good in this.
He's vomited a considerable lead away in just a few races.I'll say it right now, Martin is not winning the title this season. His window to win with Ducati is gone. He needed to stay upright today not vomit up 20 or 25 points.
Stoner did that at Catalunya once. He's vomited a considerable lead away in just a few races.
I'm fine with the season going from mid-March to mid-November. We're heading into the second four-week break of the season which is very long.I'd fancy a shorter winter break, and a few breaks from March to the end of the season. It even might be better for the riders, and for development, to have a few lulls in the season.
Cheers guys, much appreciated!
Wasn't looking for specific hotels, more areas, towns or villages that might not be on the TripAdvisor radar.
Will have the Ankerberg on the list!
May I just say...
252,000 spectators for the weekend, 19,000 more than the record so far is truly fantastic to see. The current contract runs until 2026 but I have little doubt this GP is here to stay for longer.
MM has crashed his way out of a moto 2 title, the 2015 MotoGP title, and possibly the 2020 title, a sensible reason for him to push at the time he crashed out sustaining the humeral fracture was entirely lacking, he was just trying to make a point to FQ.Maybe, but hindsight is always 20/20. It could have been Bagnaia that crashed out, and then Martin would have boosted his chances considerably.
My impression is that when MM93 crashes out, that people criticise him for pushing too hard and going too close to the limit. And, I tend to think they have a point.
Dani Pedrosa is still ahead of him in the 2024 championship standings.
I also noted that Alex let Marc through very easily, and seemed extremely happy with the result.Did Alex let Marc thru ie team orders? It seemed the 1 second gap to Alex was bridged rather quickly
Sure, but they are on the same team independent of brotherhood, and while MM is vaguely in contention for the title him being favoured is appropriate. It is quite likely he would have got past eventually in any case.I also noted that Alex let Marc through very easily, and seemed extremely happy with the result.
