2024 MotoGP Round 9: Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland - Sachsenring

Wow, what a race. Where to begin... Martín doing a Jerez again proves that he still has a lot to improve on the mental side. For all the hoopla said about making Pecco feel the pressure, it's Jorge the one who handles it worst - does he have the "it" factor? This is gonna be a huge hit to his moral and Pecco now has all the momentum, riding smarter than ever. Excellent race by Marc given the circumstances, still the protagonist of this track and couldn't have done better than that. Solid race by A. Márquez, and Morbidelli being the surprise element in several battles. Bestia with his usual comeback and Aprilias not being fast enough. Now it's summer break, a month of boredom and discussions.

Well, Martin doing Martin things. I suspect he just cost himself the championship sadly.

Very impressed with Bagnaia, rode like a champ and loved the touch of giving his knee sliders to the young fans.

Awesome.comback by Marc from a horrible Saturday. As he said, getting a podium woth his brother is better than a win today. Thoroughly deserved podium for Alex too!

We can say what we want about Bagnaia but he rode a great race today. Did what he had to do, and got rewarded for it by keeping close enough to Martin to reap the rewards from an unforced error. I actually think this probably vindicates Ducati for choosing MM over JM. Pecco has been here before so he knows what it takes. I think I said it somewhere else, but that Le Mans race felt like Martin peaked there. Can't really put my finger on what it was, but it felt like he forgot the season doesn't end in May.

I'm a little baffled by Morbidelli today. Frankenstein was riding like a guy with something to prove...maybe too much, when he blew T1 and had the contact with MM, I thought it was a complete bone-headed move. I still don't know where he thought he was going.

To me this was a pressure/tension race rather than a race of exciting fairing-to-fairing battles. But, there is ample room for different sorts of races in motorcycle racing.

Rider of the race for me is MM93, easily. It would have been Martin right up to the bitter end of his race.

This was the kind of race I've been waiting for. Perfect way to go into the break.

I do enjoy the pressure cooker races quite a bit since it feels like everything is on the line. Plus I enjoy being on the edge of my couch, holding my breath during these types of races. Really fun set of races today from all 3 classes.

It seems Martin doesn't seem to know how much to push early to save some tires unlike Pecco and Marc who are very good in this.

Given Bagnaia's comments about the tyres, both of them had taken things to the limit. It was just a matter of who made a mistake first, allowing the other to cruise to an easy win, in my opinion.

What language were Marc and Pecco speaking when watching the TV replay of Martin's crash?

Agree with all the above, particularly the gesture with the kids.

I dont think you can blame Morbidelli for the T1 move, its just racing incident and MM being opportunistic for a lunge. I dont think MM worried too much (with the pace he had)

I agree. Marc was a bit too optmistic with that one. Franco wasn't far enough out of the groovefor Marc to sneak through on the inside.
