Sachsenring race!!!

May I be the first to congratulate Mr Casey 'puke' Stoner for accepting Mr Sete 'sellotape that hamster' Gibernau's Hollywood crown...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chopperman @ Jul 19 2009, 09:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>yeah he made a mistake that we all saw then tried to blame his tyre, thats the point ! whats your problem with us talking about that ?

I watched same race as you did and all I saw was him looking down. I have
recollection of Stoner stopping in the middle of the race to comment on his
tire. He could have been looking back for any number of reasons. And so
what if he did think have concerns about the tire going away? When it
happens - the rider has to adapt accordingly. Why does that make him
deserving of derision? If Stoner went around making grandiose statements
about how ....... great he was or how ...... his opponents were - I'd say
he brought all the critisism on himself. But that just isn't the case. He
frequently gives credit to other riders for their talent and racecraft.

Saying what I'm saying will no doubt bring responses like, Oh Keshav
you're whining, or hey dude your dress is ruffled or your skin is too thin etc.
This kind of schoolyard, fratboy taunting is so ....... juvenile. Sometimes
I just getting ....... tire of all the arm-chair racers who spend their time
ranting about why Stoner doesn't live up to their standards of manliness.
What ........!

It's just a gut feeling. I don't claim it's based on anything he said. And certainly
Lorenzo would never admit such a sentiment in front of cameras. He is a
consumate professional and I've nothing but admiration for him. Like I said -
it's just a gut feeling.

Look at Stoner...... again showing the cameras that the bike is to blame and not him. Did he really need to look the bike and tires up and down like that? Seriously, it's getting old.

Jesus, dude. I get the feeling you often lay awake at 3AM and repeatedly hit your head with a hammer.
Somehow, in your twisted reality, 'looking' at the tires is the same as 'blaming' them? That's bizarre beyond words.

I was REALLY hoping that Lorenzo could do the deed.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gsfan @ Jul 19 2009, 12:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Hayden just as he said got over anxious and tried too hard. I can see why. He can just smell the top pack and for a racer of his caliber that must be like sniffing bourbon to an alcoholic. Irresistible. So he went for it and failed. Closer every race though.

That quote was re: his crash in practice - not the race itself. He didn't get
a great start what with being pushed out wide. But he's got plenty to be
proud of. He's taming that ....... beast better than any of his predecessors

This.

If Jorge wants to beat Rossi in a one on one duel, he needs to work more on his braking..... he rely's too much on his corner exit speed and not enough on being more aggressive on the brakes. That is why he is not a good defensive racer.... Rossi always get the best on him on the brakes, plus Rossi's able to defend on his bike even though it seems Lorenzo is faster.

Let's hope Lorenzo's had enough humble pies right now, and learn that he needs to work on his game some more if he wants to beat Rossi. Right now his is too arrogant and thinks he's already good enough to beat Rossi on a regular basis, but he is wrong.

Nah, just back fae the pub, been on the pish and wanted to laugh at Casey Spencer, his fans and Australians in general. I'm hardly gonna cry girlfirend, Rossi kicked Freddies arse today, as Tom's hero Schwantz would say, he "fell to bits like a cheap watch." Again.

Shame he didn't win 250 and 500 titles in a year like his namesake did before losing it.

Mmmmm what bait should I use today? Fly or Maggots? Probably shrimps and Fosters.

Nice to see everyone is talking trash.

Great race today. I was VERY encouraged to see racecraft return to racing. Even when Stoner took the lead, he did not make a mindless attempt to win the race on lap 7.

1. Valentino Rossi - the GOAT, 101 wins, tied for all time podiums.
2. Jorge Lorenzo - heir to the throne, great ride but he needs a bit more experience battling
3. Dani Pedrosa - not bad all things considered
4. Casey Stoner - damage control, not one of Ducati's strong tracks
5. Alex DeAngelis - why can't you race consistently?
6. Tony Elias - way to rough up Melandri on the last turn, contract time is here
7. Marco Melandri - great ride, way to stop for a cry before the finish line
8. Nicky Hayden - slowly but surely making some progress
9. Colin Edwards - what's going on with Tech 3?
10. James Toseland - considering CE result, not a bad weekend
11. Loris Capirossi - please retire, you deserve better equipment
12. Niccolo Canepa - enjoy WSBK next season, you're telemetry indicates you'll be good
13. Chris Vermeulen - WSBK please, you deserve better
14. Mika Kallio - my fantasy team needed you but your tires quit
15. Gabor Talmasci - congrats on your first point, now get out

Dovizioso - can it get any worse?
DePuniet - gravity finally won in spectacular fashion.

Grown ups, please remember my post may contain traces of "tongue" and "cheek."

Australians, look up humour on Google, any references to Paul Hogan are red herrings, as are any other references to any other Australian "comedians." To understand humour, please look up Frankie Boyle, Billy Connolly, Vic Reeves or Frank Skinner. If you want to try American Humour, then check out Tim Allen or Mike Myers.

Not ultimately failed but this race he failed to live up to his own expectations for the stated reasons. He is making progress no question.
