If I were jorge, i'm gonna be pissed when i read this. Imagine the hard work to even just keep up with Vale, and someone says I'm handing over wins.

They are both great riders, but I think that in the end, experience wins the day

i think i know what he is trying to put across. bit like the post where jumkie asked if hayden had the chance to finish in front of stoner, would he because of the championship standings.
Thing is with the fiat boys, both are racing for the championship and both are ahead of the third place stoner. plus lorenzo has a point to prove to yamaha and honda if the talks he supposedly had are true.

Laptime means what? Look at Laguna Seca 2008 where Stoner was regularly 0.5s faster than anyone in every sections, including the raceday. But what was the result? And try to understand why people said that Pedrosa is a rider NOT RACER. Want to become ruthless??. Look at the 2nd corner in the very last lap at Catalunya where Lorenzo cut the corner in front of Rossi's nose.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hawkdriver @ Jul 19 2009, 01:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Did you see the way Rossi was slamming the door on Jorge, I just don't understand why he doesn't race Rossi the way Rossi races him. Yeah he is fast and hungry but I want to see him become ruthless and in command. I just think Jorge is better than what he has done on the last few laps of the recent races, look at the lap times.

good race!

seems like lorenzo is creeping closer to rossi race by race and he will win one soon. whether or not its on a yamaha or a honda remains to be seen. hope he stays on yamaha so he gets the best opportunity to do so.
peddles was good today but ultimately not quite there yet, seems the yamaha is the kindest to its tyres of all the bikes.
casey, good job, you lasted the whole race and didnt look faacked at the end. hopefully the corner is turned and hes back to fitness soon.

suzuki?

WTF? podiums in 2008 at laguna and sachsenring on a ...... bike but hardly even in the points now on an "improved" machine.

looks like i am going to have to become a ducati fan soon!

the way i saw the race, that was awesome, lorenzo really it's a next big thing, and his attitude really a good one well let's see a little by little he more closer to rossi and if some one can push rossi, that will be lorenzo

+1

I think Lorenzo really needs to win the next race and Rossi needs to crash to make it less predictable and a real battle for the championship to happen..again. But honestly what are the chances of that?!

Also i really thought Hayden had a good chance of getting into the top 3 today. Rather disapointed he didn't. Bring on Donny :]

You would say that as a Stoner fan but who cares about championship as long as we get close racing every weekend and no matter who wins.

He didn't moan about it he just blamed it on the damn thing. Yeah I guess everyone else who doesn't win has to blame it on something. Just like Rossi does when he doesn't win. I guess Rossi is a moaner to.

i agree, its also lucky for the championship that rossi didnt get any points at le mans cos he would have been ahead with a decent lead.

roll on donny

It was actually pedrosa who pushed him wide on frist corner, abviously not on purpose just a racing incident.

Great then I'm the only one left then...I can't imagine what is going on with that crew today. A string of good finishes and then soundly beaten by the Hayate Kawasaki team. What the hell...

I see Stoner gaining strength and finishing well despite of whatever setbacks. The Yamaha crew are pretty dominant. I'd say on the last lap Lorenzo seemed again to think he had won before the race was over and let Rossi through after the main straight. Is this just his manner? Does he think before the last cm of track that he has beaten Rossi? If so this is a major thought error.

Melandri did get pushed wide but I didn't rewatch it to see if it was "fair" or not. Of course he wanted a higher position today but he sent a pretty good message with his effort. Nothing is hungrier than Tony the tiger at contract signing time.

Hayden just as he said got over anxious and tried too hard. I can see why. He can just smell the top pack and for a racer of his caliber that must be like sniffing bourbon to an alcoholic. Irresistible. So he went for it and failed. Closer every race though.

It is the Yamaha that can deal with the control tire the best by far and that is what puts them on top. That and having arguably the best talent on the grid. So many double podiums this year. Everyone is behind them now.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chopperman @ Jul 19 2009, 11:44 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>moaned, blamed same thing really. When did rossi moan then ??

Have you got a flute or something?

Jorge is a beast and is probably going to dominate racing in the near future. I disagree with those who say he was giving Rossi the win. He was hanging on with everything he had. Much credit goes to Jorge for his race. Having said that I think Rossi deserves even more credit. He has a hungry young lion for a teammate who is his equal in skill and desire to win on the same bike. I think Rossi has a special talent of finding a way to win when he should not.

Casey is a top rider for sure who seems to be battling health issues. I was hoping for a better finish for Hayden but he qualified very well so maybe there is hope that he can keep his seat at Ducati.

The race: It seemd like Lorenzo was expecting another last-corner fight, but was caught unaware long before the last corner. It is difficult to pass at the Sachsenring... Rossi raced accordingly and knew how to take advantage of that in the last lap. Lorenzo's mind was still in Catalunya waiting for the last corner.

Lorenzo's task is not easy, but the prize is very big for him, should he manage to succeed.
Beating Rossi (for the championship, not just in one race or two) on the same bike would be like inheriting all his glory in just one season. That's a BIG prize. Thats' what Lorenzo wants. Will he get it? I don't think so...

He's exceedingly good but I see him still way too aggressive. He is targeting Rossi, but he will soon have to worry also about others. He's forgetting to look over his shoulder as well. I see not only Pedrobot but more importantly Stoner coming back to the front, and Stoner in particular is a very tough customer for anybody.

Nice season
