Sachsenring MotoGP Race (Spoilers)

May not have been paint swapping - but folks can no longer say he Pedrosa don't battle. As noted by by Jum - no crashes - no injuries - interesting considering the way the practices went.

This is a bit of a bummer, I'm happy for Pedro but damn i wanted Stoner to do a lil better. You know, like make the lead gap bigger, not smaller.

BTW first Race a haven't watched and seems to be the best yet-.

Hayden posted a pic of his knee slider, here it is

I'd say it's pretty worn

Cracking race and by far the most entertaining of the season so far - i think the track layout lends itself to close racing.

Pedrosa was awesome, if he was just a little stronger physically he'd be a world champion.

Lorenzo was also awesome, don't like the guy but he's on it and he aint gonna let Stoner run away with it

Stoner, well i'm a tad surprised tbh, i though he was gonna check out from the get go, i don't care though 'coz he was a spectacle to watch, broadside in that turn before the waterfall pretty much every lap! So dour faced though...cheer up, you've barely been off the podium all season!

Alvaro was class, really happy to see the Suzuki up there, got the feeling it wont be consistently up there however.

I thought Hayden would have been quicker and i think Valentino did well considering - reckon there will be a lot of arse kicking going on in the team debrief!

Now that Simoncelli has actually completed a race without crashing or taking anyone out - is he showing his true potential?

And supposing he his - how long before he goes on the Aktins Diet and starts to look as skeletal as Rossi.

In a sense the smaller riders have a secondary advantage as a side benefit of their smaller size - that being,

having the amount of muscle mass appropriate to their frame - and I would expect, a corresponding degree of stamina,

which a lot of folks speculate are missing in Seniores Spies and Hayden.

i don't think that's the case at all tbh, he chucked it down the road so many times his future on a factory bike was surely jeopardised. I think he's just trying to get it home...he has the speed to win, everyone knows that. He's clearly riding within himself and needs to take baby steps towards his limit.

Spies hung his leg off the bike crossing the line, was he signalling to Simoncelli?

I knew Stoner gave it away when I saw that tight line he took. Reminds me of how Rossi lost to Gibernau there years ago (2003?).

The difference is that Lorenzo passed Stoner before the apex because Stoner did NOT take a tight line. In 2003, Gibernau passed Rossi AFTER the apex because Rossi tried too hard to close the door and ended up having to go wide on the exit and not being able to get on the gas hard enough up the hill.

Today was more like what Stoner did to Rossi last year to take 3rd.

I don't think Stoner did anything particularly wrong in that last corner, Lorenzo just wasn't going to be denied.

IMHO - most definitely.

Who here thinks Bautista should be taking Aoyama or Edwards seat next year?

Since he is a promising Spanish rider, I would like to see Bautista attract some big sponsorship to Suzuki, and see the manufacturer right itself in a couple of years.

Probably not going to happen, though.

Stoner's is pathetic, beaten by his injured team mate and JLo on inferior Yam. Boners must be depressed right now.

Yes, terribly depressed. A good excuse to turn to alcohol. Ohhhhhhh that's better

The most refined rider, returned to form, beat the most competitive rider who never gives up, and the most talented one who insists on using only minimum TC even at the cost of using his tires up before the end of the race.

It was a good show.

I have to say that Lorenzo reminded me of the best Rossi today. I will never like him, but chapeau -- he's deserving his world title more and more, riding like a super-champion. It will not be easy for Stoner to take the title from him, after all.

Rossi and Ducati should try the screamer. It's about the only thing they have not tried yet...

A championship that's alive and kicking, great post, the stand out rides are the Spaniards, Pedro, Lorenzo and Bautista!

Actually I was supremely impressed with Bautista and now would like to see him on a better bike. Alternately Suzuki seem to be taking a step in the right direction - build him a better bike.

Casey, stop killing your tyres, they are catching you now!

I'm pretty sure Ganz was fishing and trolling and your biting.

Stoner was smart, road for points. he got beat fair and square, no shame in that.

Yeah I can give you the scoop, vale finished the race in 46th position, and was immediately given support from team red for a job well done, and commented in an interview to say that "it was a great race" his shoulder is still sore from an old injury he incurred when he was 7 years old and "coming 46th was like a victory" ;-)

You must be the Penguin guys even more ........ cousin.........

Well, well, finally what a great race! I'm genuinely happy for Dani, what effort after what he's been through. Jorge rode amazingly well, the revised 2010 chassis has done the trick and his performances are now far removed from the likes of what we saw at Le mans.......Stoner is chewing up his rubber and over-riding the bike and somehow being beaten by his team-mates regularly....how is this possible?? Baz and Mental must have the answers
<
All those glorious power-slides that Baz likes to wet himself over aren't necessarily the quickest way around a racetrack, as Mighty Mick once tried to tell Gaz McCoy. Doest this mean now that Dani and Dovi could also get on the Ducati and whip the field as well? Must be........

Sic is at least staying on, and Ben seems to be hot and cold, pardon the pun on the latter......

Ducati, well, ......... yet again, both of the factory efforts looked uncomfortable and Alvaro showed them the way in a great performance. What is quite incredible is that the Rossi is consistently around 25-30 seconds behind every race at different circuits. If they can recover this position it will be one of the most remarkable efforts in Motogp ever, I actually don't believe that it is possible though without a complete revision of Engine and a new Trellis frame. The company must be re-considering its position at present, as must Rossi be, for it certainly isn't good PR to see lots of Ducati's in the field all at the back of the field. From day one at the Valencia Test last year Rossi has stated that the bike doesn't turn, this has been the issue, someone at Ducati does not want to give up on their seriously flawed chassis design which has now proved consistently uncompetative for Three of the top riders in the world...........time for some heads to roll.
