Qatar Qualifying. Round 1 .2010

Not impressed by Nicky's new helmet design.

Damn impressed with that run though.

Rossi - running race sim. Hasn't even started to think about qualifying yet, and is far more consistent than Jorge.

Stoner..

That was good stuff. Hopefully we will have a good race.....................for 2nd on.

2 days Keshav.

I love Lorenzo! Such entertainment... But ultimately he's walking to 3rd place so he's probably better off looking after himself a little better. Stoner has won, he is outrageous. Bautista was very impressive today, the second half of the grid is interesting. SOOOO MANY GOOD RIDERS

Good start for Stoner, but Rossi has a habit of making good gains by the qualifying session.
Does anybody know the difference in times between these two for the past 3 years?
ie. Is this a bigger or smaller gap than previous years?

Hayden finally looks like he can fight for podiums! The American trio will have close battles it would seem- Edwards perhaps a bit behind the other two?

Times look down on testing. Hopefully it won't be as boring as it is looking at present. Groundhog day on the past two years

Have you ever been impressed by any of his designs? He's my favorite rider, hands down, but he always has the worst designs. Drop StarLine and get with AirTrix or Drudi. Simple as.

The times at the front don't look to lend themselves to close racing. But you know Rossi is going to find something to keep the pressure on Stoner. And yes, Lorenzo will probably have a lonely ride for third. But fourth through fifteenth is separated by a second. Should be a great battle for those positions. But that's nothing new, is it?

I find some of the Rossi Aldo Drudi stuff a bit tacky and ill conceived of late.

Yeah I have, I loved the '06 Laguna Bubba Shobert tribute - but I suppose you can't really count that.

Oh !! do tell me what you are interpreting to mean I'm sure it will be an interesting tale

We have seen it all before....... Maybe Ben or jl can get in the way in the first few laps and shake it up a bit we know cs doesn't like this too much, or hopefully rossi won't get tangled up if stoner is allowed clear track, I'm sure jb and vr have a plan, the times currently aren't really reflective of their speed from testing, and the foxing begins.......

The '05 Laguna helmet was exquisite as well, imo, but both of the stars definitely should have been painted stars and stripes.

But overall, I agree with Austin. Hayden's standard designs are quite poor.

This year I'd probably give the nod to Kallio, but that's b/c I'm partial to Shoei lids. Ben's is actually much better than normal.

Looks like we are going to have a battle between Rossi and Lorenzo for 2nd place... Unless one of them manages to start in front of Stoner and somehow slow him down in the first laps. Then we could have a battle among three riders
<

If Stoner can take off alone, he can dig those 2-3 seconds gap in the first 5 laps, that will be almost impossible for the others to fill up afterwards.
Any other rider has to hope for a bad day from one of these three, to aim for the podium.
<

Dovi seems to have replaced Pedrosa as fourth alien so far.
Very nice riding from Hayden and Spies, as expected.
Impressive Bautista.
Some improvement for Simoncellli.

Only a bopper would find it boring that the result isn't already determined in favor of Rossi....the rest of us kind of enjoy the idea that a race may actually take place and the winner is yet unknown.

Looks like my hopes that stoner will not show his hand too early this year will be in vain. I would prefer him not to encourage valentino.

I think it's good. See if he can crush the competition at Qatar and then give all of the credit to the bike. Make up a bunch of baloney about how Preziosi has found a little something extra with the reliability rules. If he can win at Jerez, he will really have people believing it's the bike. Rossi and Dani will start upsetting the engineering work at Yamaha and Honda by demanding a bunch of changes they don't need.

WTF, I don't know which series you are on about but this looks highly similar to what it has for the past two years, with the same riders......and the winner is (at this point) probably more predictable than at any other round. And like the two previous years the spreading of the field at the front is also looking very likely. So I don't know how you think the result is in the balance at this point???

Only an ..... or a stoner bopper would find this and the past two years racing at Qatar entertaining or close, judging from that post you could be a bit of both
