So the BBC bid for the live rights for MotoGP relegating the Eurosport coverage of the main race to an hour afterwards in the process. Remember all the pledges two years ago?
So this weekend practice has begun - no coverage on the red button tonight. On Sunday night BBC is given over from 6.55p.m. - midnight with the Masters Golf. The race is showing on BBC3 so freeview owners are o.k. but those without are ....... Where I acknowledge that most households have gone digital, The rationale behind this from Dorna was to bring the sport into a new audience via terrestrial TV. Relegating coverage to BBC3 does not do this. As I said two years ago - bikes are bottom of the pile at BBC Sport - world series tiddlywinks would get priority over a MotoGP race.
Thank God for my British Eurosport: - no concessions to the newb, no idiots guide, no endless soundtracks from Muse, no relegation in the schedules and no Charlie Cox.
