He got Michelins map 8 tire.
Help me out here. As I understand, each team is allocated a certain number of tires for the weekend. This includes the tires for the race, yes? The quote below I lifted off Crash. I mean, duh. You can look at a tire to see if it's done any laps but the statement below makes it sound as if the race tires arrived separately. And when will the data analysis be released? I know I'm cynical and jaded but this stinks.

"In response to Martin's claims, Michelin's MotoGP boss Piero Taramasso said they are still analysing the data but can confirm that his tyre came straight to Qatar after being manufactured and hadn't been used or warmed up on any other occasion before the race."

Mapping 8
Martín with the Michelin special this race, what a shame. This result really complicates things for the season finale, Bagnaia can afford riding more conservatively and still walk away with the 'ship. DiGia proved to be the strongest man this weekend, a pity he's without a seat for the next season but that's what the sport has, gotta perform when the pressure is on. Maybe he can grab a seat as test rider and partake in some wildcards next year. At least he made the championship a little bit closer. Also I'm getting the impression he didn't actually bother with "Mapping 8" :D . With this, the only Ducati riders without a win are Marini and A. Márquez, the latter still has more opportunities to get one, Marini only gets next race before he departs for Honda.
Mapping 8 was to tell him 5 laps to go so he could then push for 1st....no team orders...simon called it correctly early on as its to manage tyre pressures.

Did it stink when Pecco had same issue in sprint?

Wouldn't surprise me to find out that teams are doing heat cycling of tyres overnight and then blaming Michelin when they get if wrong
I'm waiting to hear an official statement from Martin's garage. I've been out most of the day and haven't seen anything from them blaming Michelin. There's a lot to dislike about Michelin, making them a convenient scapegoat, but this just stinks of someone making a bad decision with tires or set-up, a feeling that gets stronger when watching the way they slammed the gates closed as soon as Martin was inside. I don't recall, under circumstances of the most extreme loss/failure/embarrassment ever seeing a team abruptly slam the gates closed like that.

Man since you decided to double down I'll respond. Laying your hands on another person is not about "gender equality." I do agree that the world is soft and stupid but this isn't it. Allowing something like what Aleix did creates a slope of a downward spiral. It starts with a slap and ends with a fight. You cannot allow this behavior in motor sport or in regular day to day. You cannot put your hands on another person even if what you did, did not harm the other person. Punishment in society and especially on a race track must be handed down. To think getting in a riders way is something that should cause a punishment but not laying your hands on another rider is asinine. Aleix kids saw this. Future motogp riders saw this. You cannot ok this behavior now or in the past. Stoner was punished for it before this "soft and stupid" world we live in. This will always be punished. IMO he got off light. Not as light as Pecco for drunk driving and crashing a car but still an example needs to be made of certain behaviors. Hitting another rider on track is a prime example of toxic masculinity. This will and never has passed as acceptable behavior.
I never realised Pecco was drink driving and crashed on moto gp circuit. Unsure how that links to AE giving a little tap on FM helmet.

Map 8 was first given to jorge lorenzo while on Ducati to telling not to go for the win. He also ignored the message. Why would they say map 8 when they could literally send 5 to go?

Not to mention it's on his pit board. Crafar was talking to Frankie Carchedi and said he (Crafar) was going to ask Ducati management what they thought of Digi going for the win but who wouldn't in his shoes? Crafar never mentioned the Map 8 message but Carchedi immediately said something to the effect of; "Nah, it's there race. We just sent a message because he (Digi) wanted to know when there were 5 laps remaining" and "it wasn't anything special." Digi knows what lap he's on. Only an Espargaro would mess that up.

I stand corrected. Didn't see the incident. Ok, just watched the video. C'mon, that was like girl-slapping over an insult about her shoes. They're young guys all pent up. Not saying Morbidelli deserved it. Aleix should have been made to apologize in front of the cameras, shake hands. End of.
Aleix is NOT "a young guy"... over a decade out of the "young guy" classes 😉

I swear if one more person says "lightly tapped" I'm going to lose my ..... How many times in anger has someone chose to lightly tap someone? You either hit someone or don't. Its not like Aleix blew in his ear and then brushed his neck giving him goosebumps. Fucksake. Aleix blew off a double yellow, made a harsh pass on FM, and then lightly tapped him. Thats the stupidest .... I have ever heard.

Excuse my toxic manhood please.

IIRC, Jorge was in Third, with Dovi behind him. Dovi had to win to keep championship alive vs Marc. Lorenzo never ceded position citing after the race it would have been worse for Dovi as he had superior pace and was dragging Dovi towards the front.

Aleix gave him a proper whack on the helmet. Not a good look and I still don't know what set Aleix off.
Yeah a proper whack on the helmet. This can't go on! What comes next? A double tap? Or even worse he could be road raging all over the place and showing other riders on a live track the finger?

To be totally honest I was even amused by the romano fenati incident as it wasn't really dangerous if you look at it realistically. I found it ridiculous how everybody screamed out even blaming fenati tried to kill the other rider and he should be charged for attempted murder. What ........! It made him a legend to me and my friends and we sometimes playfully pull a romano fenati when we race each other on our pitbikes. But also we tap each other on our helmets and have a beer between stints.

We need Mapping 8 apparel !!!!

About the Aleix/Frankie incident, I couldn't care less about it. Both of them act like stooges. Aleix always acts like there's a set of rules for him and a different set for everyone else and Frankie seems to make it a point of disrupting riders at every opportunity he gets. I still can't get my head around how he managed to work himself into the Pramac team...

Did anyone see Moto3? ....... jaume using complete dirt track tactics running sasaki deep, multiple times. And so early? Why, there's no benefit, no craft. That's dirty, followed Rossi tactical example against Marquez. Can't beat em, run em wide.

Over the season, Was actually level, happy for either, both showed class, craft and balls to get to the end. Yeah-mate massia became nah mate massia.

I agree. Still a ways to go to match Sofoglu in a WSS race some years ago though.
