So Digi is the wildcard in this race. How hard will he push to try and get a seat for next year? He didn't seem shy about going after Martin in the sprint. He's got nothing to lose really. How hard will Alex push? I'm excited for this race. We know what Mav will do if he gets in the thick of it. And then there's Marini.

Aleix gave him a proper whack on the helmet. Not a good look and I still don't know what set Aleix off.
I stand corrected. Didn't see the incident. Ok, just watched the video. C'mon, that was like girl-slapping over an insult about her shoes. They're young guys all pent up. Not saying Morbidelli deserved it. Aleix should have been made to apologize in front of the cameras, shake hands. End of.

You are letting your toxic masculinity show!
I don't care about my toxic masculinity. I don't really mind racers going after each other, at least when there's a proper reason for it. In any case it should happen off the track and not on the track where it can endanger others. I think Aleix should have gotten a back of the grid penalty.
Kinda funny how Aleix always loves to complain about others yet gets completely hotheaded himself.

And btw. Aldeguer is headed for MotoGP whether I like it or not. When was the last time Kalex stayed winless in three consecutive races?

Or it could lead to.....oh I don't know.......maybe a hot-headed rider reaching over and giving a good tug on another rider's brake lever at speed? Oh wait............I think we've already seen that one.
That wasn't the only incident in Fenati's tumultuous career. His career has been a bit like Maverick's but to a more extreme degree. Very talented but his lack of maturity cost him a lot.
Romano doesn't have a ride lined up for next year and will most likely fade into obscurity.

I agree with this. It reminds me of the Rossi Baiggi incident behind closed doors that resulted in a bloody lip. But things like this should never happen on track. Its the equivalent of road rage, and they must be better than that.

Martín with the Michelin special this race, what a shame. This result really complicates things for the season finale, Bagnaia can afford riding more conservatively and still walk away with the 'ship. DiGia proved to be the strongest man this weekend, a pity he's without a seat for the next season but that's what the sport has, gotta perform when the pressure is on. Maybe he can grab a seat as test rider and partake in some wildcards next year. At least he made the championship a little bit closer. Also I'm getting the impression he didn't actually bother with "Mapping 8" :D . With this, the only Ducati riders without a win are Marini and A. Márquez, the latter still has more opportunities to get one, Marini only gets next race before he departs for Honda.

How's the back rehab going? Hope you are feeling well.
Thanks. Happy to say, I'm having full recovery. The first 6 weeks after surgery were a nightmare. So much pain and anxiety thinking the surgery was failing. But I'm off pain killers and feel great. Crazy thing . . . I called the surgeon and told him I had this weird sensation (that could not be true) that I felt taller, and he told me they actually decompressed my spine so much that I gained back an inch in height. Putting together a plan in January to do a ride from San Francisco down to Mexico, assuming the fusion is complete by then. Happy camper.

Interesting race. Not sure what to make of the Michelin situation. This is the second year in a row that a departing participant finds race winning pace for no particular reason. Last year it was Suzuki. This year it’s Diggia. Slow in a straight line with a big edge grip advantage. Sounds like last year, too.

Not sure what they are doing, but the natives are restless and it’s spawning a dozen new conspiracy theories about Italy vs Spain and Dorna/Michelin playing puppet master.

Digi gets to leave MotoGP knowing he had a win. Bagnaia lucky not to hit Digi and crash. Points wise its likely that Bagnaia will be world champion

BTY the rules are based on current metrics and a metric was broken resulting a 6 grid place penalty

Regarding the Aleix situation, I’m with Mdub. Society is soft, and pearl-clutching has reached industrial scale, but that has nothing to do with the Aleix situation.

He blew through a yellow flag, launched a somewhat vicious overtake after Frankie took his spot back, and then he hit Frankie when Frankie gestured for him to calm down.

The issue is that Aleix is an elite athlete, who in this situation (and many more, imo) had no idea what was going on. In the absence of understanding, he lashes out with anger and this time with violence. He is Don Quixote, and he is still playing the victim on social media.

This was as easy penalty for the FIM to hand down, they only needed to determine severity.

What happened to Martin today and Pecco yesteday is ridiculous. WTF is Michelin doing? Why they both (and apparently only them) with a tire that sucks? Unacceptable. It makes us wonder that it was intentional. It seems they chose two rotten tires and got to raffle both between the two riders.

Just watched the race. Well sort of. Was on this forum and reading at the same time. Very disappointed for Martin :(
Taken out of his hands it seems.

It was good to see DiGis smile though.
