MotoGP: 2016 Round 02 - Gran Premio Motul de la República Argentina (SPOILERS)

MM doubtless had more single lap pace in him, but crashed twice towards the end of the session not inspiring great confidence in his potential whole race pace as you say.

Lorenzo got into a relentless groove as is his wont towards the end, but I haven't changed my opinion that Rossi is still in the race if the tyres don't last race distance.

MM crashing is par for the course, I tend to see it more as him figuring out where the limit is. As long as he isn't crashing into others and does not crash during the grand prix, I don't see much into it. Turn 1 has caught a lot of people out for example...should be interesting to see what happens there tomorrow especially if there are any tight battles and guys are trying to out-brake one another.

I hope everybody is forced to use the Yellow banded hard tires.

Congrats to Marquez. Stunning lap. I hope Lorenzo watches video of the Ducatis, reminded me of the old Ducati bucking and wobbling around the track. If Jlo signs with Ducati, what ever extra money he gets he will have to spend on top hookers because he'll never again get free ..... reserved for winners.

Jack Miller looks great riding his bike, albeit way down the order.

Qual: Honda, Yamaha, Yamaha, Honda. Hey Lorenzo, there is a message there.

Jack Miller is like nuclear energy. Very impressive until it explodes.

Kinda feel like we all knew after the first few tests that this kinda .... coming down the line; especially as we were hearing how Michelin was especially good at creating the rear tires. I'd been thinking it was all going to be about the fronts. Between the tires and the gravitational anomaly known as Turn One - Argentina looks to be a war of attrition scenario.

The point being mentioned though Kesh is that both instances are on Ducati's and both riders involved are the two largest riders in the paddock.

Lorenzo made a comment when questioned (I am paraphrasing) along the line of 'it should not matter if they are big guys, this is MotoGP and this should not happen' which i full agree with but is it coincidence or flaw in design ?

Both rear tires have been withdrawn. New stiffer carcass will introduced in the morning with an extra 30 minute practice to allow set up. Who favors a stiffer carcass?

Heh, the loaded dice have been rolled.

Shocking.

I'd like to take the time to congratulate Valentino Rossi on a hard fought victory in Argentina...he really showed his toughness out there.

So I guess this is definitive proof that the sns exists.

This is actually a good illustration of what kind of advantage the sns were. Michelin had all kinds of test time to get it right for Qatar and came out smelling like a rose. Now look at Argentina where they dont have that up to the day data and they are struggling Compare that with riders back in the day who had no ....... idea what they were getting come raceday compared to the rider who had tires that were up to the day current on track conditions. One looks really good, the other looks really bad
