Very entertaining day of qualifying. Sometimes the weather really screws things up and sometimes it makes things very interesting.

I have an acquaintance that knows Karel. I will check out his viewpoint for sure. Must be very exciting for Karel and the team to be on the front row. I hope he doesn't get run over by the Yamahas going into the first turn.

Good post interview. Cal and Marc are so easy going, most of the time.

Michelin brought a fourth tire for what reason? Well the safety riders don't seem to know, since it was agreed to only have three tires per wheel per race. Not surprising, MM (and CC) want the stiffer carcass. Good thing, VR has enough dead rubber lying around his trailer. Badda-bing.

Michelin are now saying that 8 riders complained after Qatar. Like I said their story keeps changing.

Speaking of fantastic, I see the fantastic faux have been busy ruining another thread with their, I hate Rossi rhetoric.
Notice how their narrow minded view of GP never loses focus. They will attribute anything they perceive as negative on Rossi.
I can only imagine their outcry, if Rossi retired, spent a full season developing and testing a factory bike that is slower than a 2 year old bike.
That would be a big story for the faux.
Howcome all I hear is crickets?

Cos you've just described rossis 2 years at ducati ......... everyone saw the failure that was ......... and it still was of absolutely no interest to those who knew he was crap and was going to be crap on the duc.

MotoGP Argentina: Vinales predicts 'big difference' at end of race

"There will be a big difference in the last ten laps of the race, between riders who worked well for the race and those that didn't" - Maverick Vinales.

Qatar winner Maverick Vinales believes the last ten laps of Sunday's Argentina round will see a 'big difference' in pace emerge between the riders.

The new Movistar Yamaha rider explained that wheel spin is a big problem at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, and those that control it best will have a major advantage at the end of the race.

"Rear grip here is very important to have a not for one lap, but for all the race," said Vinales. "I think there will be a big difference in the last ten laps of the race, between riders who worked well for the race and those that didn't.

"The last exit I was spinning everywhere with the hard tyre. So we have still to work on that. At the end '41 low was not bad with the hard, but for sure it is not the pace we can go."

The young Spaniard was speaking after leading both of Friday's free practice sessions, finishing 0.3s clear of Honda's reigning champion Marc Marquez.

"It's never easy! I was pushing on the bike," admitted the #25, whose M1 kicked-out so violently through the right-left transition for the final corner that it set off his airbag early in FP1. "But I feel great on the bike. I feel comfortable all the time. Each lap I do I feel better, but still have to improve."

And what if it the forecasts are correct and it rains tomorrow?

"I've never rode the Yamaha in the rain. I'm curious to see if last year it was me or the bike, honesty!" Vinales smiled, referring to the Suzuki struggling in the wet. "But I know I can be fast in the rain, in Moto3 I was quite fast. Even if I didn't finish, I was there. First or second. In Moto2 I also finished many wet races on the podium.

"So I think I can be fast in the rain and the dry, let's see if the bike is working good. It seems to work well."

Vinales' team-mate Valentino Rossi was 1.0s slower, which meant16th fastest on the close timesheets.

Well than how did Richie Rich qualify second with Rossi's old Ducati? :p

It's an assumption that Goubert isn't telling the truth. An assumption that's being made by people who have absolutely no knowledge of the tires. If you don't know anything about racing tires (wet racing tires in particular), how can you discern when someone who has intimate knowledge of the tires isn't telling the truth? It's your lack of knowledge that's making it all seem wrong or suspect.

It isn't so much whether he is telling the truth or not, but more with his vested interest how much truth is he telling and what may he be leaving out.

Also turning up the crowd sound whenever Rossi is on picture is getting old as ..... And it's been old as .... for the past couple of years.

Argentinan fans cheered when Marquez crashed in FP1, the Valeban still out in full force.

Have seen in another forum that the crowd also cheered when Pedrosa (I think it was) amongst others had falls on Friday.

Thankfully he saves his craziest stunts for non-race sessions.

Anything Dani can do.

I didn't watch the full presser but the new tyres are talked about. From the parts I saw Marquez and others weren't complaint about the carcass but about the rubber being too soft on the front. He does say that he is happy with a stiffer carcass if that's what they bring in because it does suit his style and heavy braking.

To add

Marc Marquez in the qualy presser stated that, race direction didn't know why or that Michelin were bringing an extra tyre. That in the safety commission with 15 riders including him and Cal(I bet Dani as well) nobody asked for another tyre an he did believe that it was the wrong time to bring and extra tyre. Safety commission agreed not to use the extra soft option and they would only test a new tyre in a test not a race weekend. He also mentioned that it was against the current rules for Michelin to bring a fourth tyre.

So we have Michelin changing their story everyday, Marquez saying that he or any other riders who are in the safety commission asked for a new/the old tyre. I'm waiting for MV/Dani to disagree with this.

Correct, p4p1. I think I brought that up. So who knows what Michelin is doing. It just makes the whole tire/tyre conspiracy go on. Rightly or wrongly.

I think Rins got too close to Marquez and MM just adjusted a little to avoid colliding.
...... Or he was gunning for Maverick, because taking him out now is easier than in the race.

Maybe, just maybe, more riders are actually concerned about this.

But it was originally 2 riders including Rossi that went to Michelin after the Qatar race, then it was 4, the next day it was 6 and now it's 8. The number has changed but when they complained hasn't. And Marquez as I've already said spoke about how rider complaints(except for Rossis who's complaint on the carcass is documented) were about the rubber being too soft and nothing about the construction of the tyre.

Says the guy who has wallpapered endless threads foaming at the mouth ranting about Stoner.

Can you give us a step by step analysis of how you arrived at this conclusion, or is it as usual, another unsubstantiated accusation on your part? I mean, how do you KNOW, what other people know and while you are at it, explain what what qualifies you as being more knowledgeable than others, seeing as you constantly dismiss everything said that doesn't fit into your agenda.

So hypothetically what does that say about Lorenzo if his season continues as is?

Hypothetically, what it says is, Lorenzo made the same stupid mistake that Rossi did by switching from his perfect soul mate bike to one that only Stoner has truly been able to tame.
