All three riders pointed the finger at Bezzecchi, in my opinion. Even Pecco.

The aerodynamics are a part of what we need to learn to handle, would be the gist of what the three gentlemen said.
And Bezzecchi couldn't handle it when he needed to, the most.

And right on cue, the Bez goes and puts his bike on P1 in FP....

And now Binder goes top, with Acosta third.
Marc second and Quartararo fourth.

Two Honda's inside the top ten.

We could end the session now, couldn't we?

If there is anyone on here no matter which rider they favour who considers the aero and ride height stuff to be a good idea I am unaware of their identity.

Sure that Bezz made a misjudgement which was amplified by aero causing the collision is a very reasonable take, I am sure he didn’t deliberately ram into the back of Vinales at 150 mph.

I will not see the actual session until later. From the times and a bit of text description on Crash.net, it looks as if MM93 is on at least an equal footing with the top Ducati GP24 riders.

Yes, he is immense at the moment. Has real momentum.

From the outside looking in, it seems that only an injury would rule him out of back to back titles.

It looked like he had the soft front on for his times I think. Well it said S front M rear on the screen I believe?
The others seemed to be H front M rear.
If that is correct I don't know how his race pace will be.

I've read more about the sessions, but won't see them until this evening. It seems that both Martin and Bagnaia had scrappy sessions. We'll find out in Q2.

I can't see how we can two wheel racing without developing the aerodynamic side of racing.

Having good regulation that allows both the teams to develop the aerodynamic side of motorcycle riding, while mitigating the negative effects, can't be easy.

Banning ride height devices is a clear I/O though.

OTOH he reputedly ran hard/hard throughout FP1 while others didn’t and was still 5th, so perhaps he is happy with his race pace and concentrated on what has been his main Achilles’ heel along with bad starts, qualifying, in FP2.

Tony Arbolino got his clock cleaned waiting for a push in pitlane. What a crazy incident. Marshall running to his aid and van den Goorbergh giving zero ...... I am on the fence about how responsible Zonta is. He is either start from the back long lap penalty responsible or banned for the rest of the weekend responsible. He had plenty of time to slow down or stop for the marshal but I am not sure if the marshal should be somewhat at fault or not at all. Poor Tony though. he was a sitting duck. Looks to me like his ankle was broken. .... man take the marshal out not the stopped bike.

I like technological innovations that can possibly make their way to the road. I'm not sure how ride-height devices would work on the road. Aerodynamics are making their way to the road, but I don't know how useful they are. E.g. discussion on here previously about an Aprillia superbike that might have ground effects saying that it would never be useful on the road.

Interesting PR session. Bigger crescendo at session-end than I expected. MotoGP commentators reminding everyone that Buiriam is a circuit where riders can make a difference. No surprise Marc is on top. KTM having another confusing lackluster weekend, with Acosta leading the charge. Binder and Miller to Q1. Vinales and Bastianini must not feel great about next year.

The bogus rear appendage on the KTM is still jarring, even after a couple months of seeing it. Apparently, it was approved by claiming that it was a tire cooling shroud, even though it's obviously meant to add downforce directly on the rear axle.

Martin is riding like a champion. Who knows if he'll keep it together until the end of the season, but so far, he's putting in the work at a critical time. Bagnaia is not necessarily out of position, but this maybe isn't the time to play it cool. He needs to put Martin under pressure in every session. If Martin does take the title this year, I hope he notches a few more wins. The win differential would still be the highest in history, and if Dorna and press start splitting hairs with Sprint wins, we're on the verge of counting sprints, even though Dorna assured fans that it would never happen. They made the same promise regarding Superpole races in SBK.

Imagine your Tenere/GS/Africa Twin/Multistrada getting off the trail and onto a sealed road, you push a button and the machine drops....

Would probably make the Adventure segment bikes even heavier and more expensive, and not so adventure willing bikes, yet still....popp and drop, by a push of a button....

Fair enough. I wasn't thinking of adventure bikes, but full road-going superbikes.

Acosta's last lap was the lap of the session I think. Pity that's all the KTM seems to be capable of at this track. Now just wait for quali to prove me wrong again.
