how feasible is it for honda to move the 35 rider onto the 26 bike for the remaining races?
Very feasible. Case-in-point: Hector Barbera. But he'll lose points in the championship - he's a brilliant sixth in the rider standings, top independent rider and ahead of both factory Ducatis.

He's already got a factory spec bike. Honda can simply divert some of its 26 focused resources LCR's way to give it an extra edge.

Lorenzo's crash was brutal, how there's no bones broken I don't know, Dani however seems to land on his collarbone every time he has a biggie .

I know what you mean, his body literally bounced about 6 inches back into the air after he initially slams into the track. .... thats gotta hurt!

That is something I would really like to see, with Cals apparent return to form in the back end of this season Ive wondered if he would be any faster on the Pedobear bike. I think just him knowing he was on the Repsol bike would inspire him to dig a little deeper and hang it all out there.

Be interesting to see how different the LCR and Repsol bikes are in performance.

I was sure he'd busted at least one ankle. Was amazed to see him return for FP4.

I imagine his airbag will have gone off and inflated the back of the suit.....thats what gave him the extra bounce!

This is what I mean - in 20 years, the first and only time he's managed a pole at Motegi was back in 2009.

Marquez was on a pole lap but aborted it when he saw the yellow flag. Should be able to podium with his eyes closed with all the riders out or dinged up. I think Lorenzo leads early, gives it up to Rossi and Marquez with Marquez hanging around till half way then going to the front and pulling away.

So you think Marquez will be toying with them then ........... shades of 2015 :p

Was strange to see Marquez make the next 2 mistakes in a row though. I'm sure it's going to be a good race tomorrow. I see it between Rossi and Marquez as you do, I expect Lorenzo to be hurting more today than he did yesterday.

All part of the plan .............. all part of the plan ........... lull into a false sense of security then BAM, fastest lap of the race on last lap to win :D

Maybe. Point is Marquez was dominant all weekend. Held the top spot throughout, save for a brief interruption by Dovizioso IIRC. One more or less expected pole position from him. Old man Rossi is more of a conundrum.

I think the coke theory would explain it all. Saves it for a last stage burst (can't be riding high throughout) and goes mental for three minutes... during which I suspect Uccio consumes copious amounts of water. Over the long term, exhibits erratic often paranoid behaviour off-stage.

Rossi has been saving going 100% for the last 3 minutes of Q2 all season long. It wouldn't make sense for him to do it any other way. MM wants to be the fastest in all sessions and that makes sense for a young, dominant, rider wanting to make & leave his mark. If Rossi tried to set the best lap he could early in qualifying, that leaves plenty of time for MM and Lorenzo to attempt to beat it. Instead, Rossi spends a lot of time on race setup during free practice and only goes all out at the very end of qualifying. That strategy also minimizes the chances of him highsiding himself to the moon like Pedrosa and Lorenzo did.

So.. sandbagging basically. I suppose that's as valid a theory as any other.

For once we agree. Rossi deserves particular praise for being able to adapt to the current qualifying format at age 37, having apparently realised that starting down the grid was to his disadvantage last year and may have been pivotal in his narrow loss in the world title last year. If he can spend most of his time on race set up and still get pole or close to pole from only 1 or 2 fast laps good luck and all power to him.

I think there is a 0% chance of Cal riding for Pedrosa, he is LCR's only rider, they would be in a .... situation if he did.

This has been covered before. Crutchlow is heavily involved as a Monster brand ambassador, and Repsol Honda are sponsored by HRC so it would never happen. As has been noted though, there is nothing to say that they couldn't give him more support.

If any rider "Steps up" to Pedrosa's seat, it would be Jack Miller.

Has Gobert been seen around the Motegi pits?
