What a huge effort by Mike Jones too. New track, new bike and just flew straight over. Outstanding

I honestly had my doubts that Mad Mike would make it to qualifying, foreign track, foreign series, foreign bike, tyres and team really chucked him in the deep end.

Nice work, and he will only get quicker.

Hiroshi Aoyama to replace Dani

I actually heard that one of Pedrosa's cousins may be stepping in for him.

Pedro breaks pedrobone.

Speedy recovery little buddy.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.
What a flight. Laverty fit to race. That is s surprising.

Marc looks good. He is doing those slow saves and stopping with his elbow. Sure sign that he is safely finding the limits.

If you live with Pedrobones, don't throw Pedro's body.

Lorenzo huge highside, looks injured
I have seen two of the bigger highsides i have ever seen this weekend

From Aspar's twitter:
#JapaneseGP @eugenelaverty won't take part in FP3. He will undergo more checks before FP4 to assess his medical condition

Its amazing how much difference there is between 2 professional riders. Ayoma has thousands of laps at Motegi and cant get within 2 seconds of Marquez on the same bike

Big ups to Mad Mike as well.

Never seen the track and the call up was so late he did not even get time to do a track walk

Never ridden an MGP bike and he is 4 seconds slower than Marquez

May not look good to some, but with my unashamed bias here, it is impressive enough for mine

Air lifted for CT scan. "Back worries" is what the Moto2 announcers said. Very strange to have these two highside in practice.

I agree he's doing a great job all things considered. He's dropped a huge amount of time since yesterday morning when they were talking about the possibility of him not qualifying.

And he finishes FP4 within .046 of a second of Aoyama who is on a full factory Repsol Honda on a track that he has probably ridden more laps than any other rider in the field (Eugene will be sore so not judging against him)

And he finishes Q1 in FRONT of Aoyama ..................... wtf!

BTW, Sensational from Lorenzo to be P3 after FP4 after almost literally going to the moon and back (Pedrosa made the moon)

Special mention Eugene as well , to be out there after that off is huge in terms of effort and balls
