Even a #2 bike shouldn't cause a decrease of a full second per lap. Rossi had pace with his first bike. There was obviously at least some sort of issue with the second bike to account for the huge difference in lap times. When Marquez has a lead he rides flat out, he doesn't "toy" with anybody when he has a lead. I'm surprised all of the Marquez fanboys don't even know his riding style. What a joke
Perhaps you haven't been watching yourself. That was his previous modus operandi, but after crashing out of 6 races in the first part of last year trying to win every race regardless of whether his bike was capable of doing so he changed his approach for the second half of the year, which seems to have carried over to this year going by the Qatar race, and has actually said he realised he needed to change his approach. And isn't the theory that he was toying with Rossi at PI and Sepang last year the whole basis of the hatred those of your ilk exhibit towards him in any case?

I still am not a major fan because of his past recklessness, particularly the Willairot incident, but he seemed to have also tempered his approach in this regard last year, and his past incidents were all a result of recklessness rather than deliberate malfeasance imo, subtle though that distinction may be.

Iannone will get 1 penalty point and a 3 place grid penalty in austin

I think it warranted more than a single penalty point, and frankly a 10 place grid drop would have been more appropriate.

The new and improved race direction I suppose.

10 grid places? Hell no! He'd take the whole field out from back there.

Interesting.... really. I wonder how they calculated that bit of discipline. Personally I think they should dock him the number of championship points that Dovi would have won had Joe not t-boned him like a drunken teenager in a Chevy Nova, and then made him lick the track clean. For good measure they should make him brush the pasta crumbs from Gigi's goatee every night before bedtime for the remainder of the season.

Not seen the race yet but by all accounts one to forget :(
Maybe the best approach for yourself is to skip this race and look forward to next week. Hope for dry track in Texas and George should compete once again.
I enjoyed what I managed to see of it and Marquez's attempt to jump on the podium was worth it alone.

Nice race shame about the f2f tho, would have like to have seen it go the full distance.

Anyway can I confirm the race result as given by Nick Harris

1st Marc Marquez on the familiar number 93
2nd Valentino Rossi on the familiar number 46
3rd Dani Pedrosa on the familiar number 26
4th Eugene Laverty on the familiar number 50
5th Hector Barbera on the familiar number 8
and 6th Pol Espargaro on the familiar number 44

Something familiar about his repetition of the phrase that irk's me.

Iannone is just another Simoncelli, a reckless berk who costs his team a fortune(see also a Mr Crutchlow)

That was a crazy race. Looks like MM is building his confidence back on the Honda, Ianone is feeling the pressure of a contract on it's last legs, Rossi and Pedrosa got lucky with a 'Bradbury' podium and the biggest cheer I heard was from the Rossi fans when Lorenzo dropped it.

If it's so fraudulent why the .... are you still watching, ....?

Haha papabozzo is back.

Guess we can only expect Rossi fans like you to show up when the idol has a good finishing position.

Must suck seeing Marc Marquez embarrass your hero.

+1 for the Bradbury comment.

I hear you and I can see your point, but in fairness his new approach has only come about because his bike has been so poor he cant push as hard as he did his first two years even if he'd want to. I guess he's learnt that when he doesn't have pace to conciede a few places rather than pushing too far and crashing out. But I'd still argue that marquez is a balls to the wall sort of rider, that's his style and that's okay as long as the bike can keep up with the rider.

The PI incident and the sepang clash are two anomalies where I don't believe Marquez was going for a race win. But that's up for debate and quite frankly I don't care, I actually don't have anything against Marquez. Ya he's had a few bad moments of recklessness but so have almost all the other riders. My previous post was not meant to show distaste towards Marquez if that's the way it came off.

If they want to make racing safer they should ban Italians from the sport.
That whole species is idiotic.

Just a thought, is it lucky if a rider decides to ride within their limitations and finish a race with a slower pace and other riders decide to foolishly push their limits on a damp and dirty track and eventually crash out because of it? Pedrosa didn't get lucky. He got screwed by Iannone in the first 3 seconds of the race. And his smart riding paid off and got him in the podium even though he was way off the pace. When it comes to winning the championship it comes down to points, and it's not how you got the points, it's how many points you have.
