Indianapolis GP 2013: RACE (spoilers)

I do not believe I have come across a group of people more determined to not enjoy a sport.

U miss judge the situation here sir. Not surprisingly. :) Krops, I've tried 5-7 other forums. This one is by far the best BECAUSE peeps question the sports authenticity. Sure we are sometimes off the Marc, but thats our strength NOT our weakness.

Dorna couldn't promote a ........ in a whorehouse, the MSMA are concerned only with keeping out their competitors, IRTA is a bunch of fat old men intent on freeloading, and the FIM are sitting on their tax-free bank accounts in Geneva. The paddock is filled with attention whores, semi-psychotic and hyperactive lunatics lacking in affect, weary old men with egos the size of a small galaxy, sundry hangers on...

Kropotkin, why do u hate the sport so much? :....:

Nobody on the forum hates the sport. Our passion makes us notice and voice the chances for the sport to be even better. We are a small minority of sportsviewers want it to be more popular. I think it should be mandatory viewing for everyone with a sport bike.

Krop, I gotta give Jum this one...the way u talk about the sport/MM being "beautiful" is a bit too sweet.

Sorry but this is rubbish Kropo. I do enjoy this sport, and Rossis pace at Indy from lap 14 on was the same as the leaders, hence he caught Bradl, Cal and Alvaro like they were standing still. Clearly Rossis quali and early race woes are directly related to the Bridgestones, as they were last year too. Once the tyres go off......well we just witnessed it.

Riders and manufacturers deserve a tyre war, bespoke rubber and far greater rubber options would change much in Motogp....and personally I beleive Honda and Marc would not be in their current position at all.

I wanted to "like" this post.  Then I saw that Migs had already liked it and alas, I was forced to withhold my praise.

Agreed, we need a tire war in this series.  Desperately!

Good call, reminds me of an interview with  bass player Billy Sheehan. He said in it how some folk complained about spending time with fans and signing autographs. His attitude was, "If someone has followed my music, and taken the time to ask for my autograph, I'M honoured, and will give them the time." I've never been a fan of his playing, but that made me think he is a cool guy. I also liked that after he got an endorsement deal with Yamaha,  he sent his signature basses back after a tour, saying they weren't his, as he hadn't payed for them!

For Stoner fans this post says "Stoner is a poof, Rossi is God and I am a 10 year old girl who loves yellow."

Peace :)

You presumably don't spit at him because you don't like his playing and consider it an insult that  he and Jack Bruce are both called bass players. If you and others did, Billy Sheehan's  attitude might be different.

Ask another bass player, one Roger Waters, a member of a band who garnered far more acclaim and wealth from fans than Stoner ever did; his band stopped touring and he wrote a (rather turgid imo) album.

There's plenty wrong with MotoGP, much of which you and I agree on. However, it is still breathtakingly, mind-bogglingly, eye-wateringly beautiful to watch.

True. Riding a GP bike is still a mind-blowing spectacle, but MotoGP has little substance beyond the spectacle of riding. The current tech regs also undermine the prodigious skills of GP champions, by suppressing manufacturer participation, and over-emphasizing fuel efficiency and engine reliability.

I don't think people remember how good it used to be. MotoGP fans were a bunch of partiers who made fun of F-none fans and Napcar fans. Every year brought new rumors of outside teams like Motocycsz, Ilmor, etc. The hardcore fanbase was growing rapidly. The motorcycle market was surging. MotoGP was a product that sold itself, which certainly explains the strategy Dorna created to move MotoGP to terrestrial TV and update to digital formatting and online TV.

After the global credit meltdown, other racing series have recovered quite rapidly. MotoGP is still trudging through the swamp of its prior mistakes.

This guy! Openly laughing. Well done sir.

The factory teams always end up getting caught with their pants down after they acquire the fastest riders and win a couple of championships. Development slows down and the race teams have to do more with less. It's a constant cycle and we've all heard Rossi, Stoner, Jlo, and Pedro asking for more and doing non stop testing when they're down. It's only a matter of time until the M1 gets upgrades

It's important to factor in the huge loss of revenue from lost sponsorship and the general slow sales for Yamaha since the economy tanked. If they had Honda's budget - the M1s would be more competitive.

They're all on the same tires and Rossi has the same bike as Lorenzo and yet he's miles behind.  It ain't the tires Bub.... The "Goat" is past his expiry date.

He did not do too good at setting up the Ducati for Rossi. That speaks volumes about JB and his talents.

Really? You don't think it might just be that the Ducati is a piece of ....?

Burgess is really talented; but putting lipstick on a pig just goes so far.

As a fellow Scot, it pains me to say that Jack Bruce is one of the most overrated bass players on the planet. And from stories from friends who know and have worked with him, he is in fact a bitter and twisted wee man, with a chip on his shoulder that would make Casey look well adjusted!

Roger Waters, now you are talking, he was never Jaco, but he can write a song. I have never listened to anything by Floyd since The Final Cut out of principal. It's like Thin Lizzy touring without Phil Lynott. The Final Cut is one of my favourite albums by the way, and Guy Pratt, who took the bass gig in Floyd is one of my favourite bassists, but I would not listen to him with Floyd. I have met and chatted wi him, and he is a seriously cool and funny guy. (Pardon the Pun)

sadly, i wasn't setup for the last corner... but happened to be following them into the last corner as nicky was coming in quick. So many photos to sort!!

Rossi over taking Cruthlow on the 2nd to last corner!

Bruce was in the right place at the right time and he filled the spaces as required. His strengths were as a composer and a ............ of a singer. His blues vocals were really great. Made Robert Plants' blues stylings sound like that of a frippy flower-child ....

Love  Pink Floyd up to "Wish You Were Here " myself.

Quite like Jaco, have some Weather Report albums.
