Question re Acosta - He touched with Binder, loosing the left front wing (sounds as I'm writing about a spaceship, not a motorbike...)
That was the moment MM snuck past them.

Acosta managing to both stay on Binder's tail and fight of Alex M was my highlight, apart from Bastianini's overtaking of Martin.

Yes, thank you for reminding me that I forgot to complain about aero. MotoGP race starts are looking more and more like F1, with little carbon shards bouncing all over the track.

We may have reached peak aero BS this weekend, which occurred when Bezzecchi kicked one of the rear wings off of his own bike while throwing his leg over to go out for practice.

The first few races of this season in Moto GP had excellent racing. The best racing of any top tier motorsport. So I think this talk about how bad aero is getting is a bit overdone

Clearly, as expected, only the 2 true factory Ducati bikes are getting any updates. If they could, Ducati would program an invisible Mapping 8 into Martin’s bike.

I'm not sure that I agree that they would go that far. Martin's bike seemed as quick as any, and the differential today wasn't Martin going slow. But Bastianini having qualified well.

I don't think Pecco has the speed over him, the GP24 has the speed over the GP23.

Enea already winning today, if he doesn't blow the start he should be hard to beat tomorrow.
Yes the GP24 is faster and Marc is quickest on the GP23 in his first season on it.
It still aint going to be easy. Pecco is impressive and has been at the factory for years with you would expect a lot of input on it's development.
I am not saying Marc can't do it but he starts from behind. Going to be a hard fight next year and Pecco will be strong

Ahh . . . I did see the contact. What was uncertain (to me) was who banged into who. I don't think I saw any replays of the incident from other angles.

Morbidelli’s double long lap penalty isn’t going to help him
My first thought on seeing that was 'that's what a penalty is meant to do'. Looking on Crash, Morbidelli says that he was unlucky rather than irresponsible, and Marc Marquez backs him up on that. Morbidelli said that the actions of Vinales had an influence on the event, and noted the issues of the modern aero era where the bikes arrive at corners at higher speeds than before.

I tend to find the warm ups give a decent indication of good last minute changes.

If you nail the warm up, you tend to set yourself up for a potentially good race.

As for races, what a brilliant Moto3 race that was!

It was an exciting race for sure. I'm a little bit concerned about that weaving on the last lap, though.

The weaving was a bit much. But then again sometimes I wonder what I would do were I fortunate enough to even be leading a grand prix.

Moto 3 always has moments that make me hold my breath every race. If it were during the main GP, we'd never hear the end of it.
