I'd love to see Aleix at least get a podium.

I'd be fully content with Marc just riding around and collecting points this weekend. He simply doesn't have the pace here. His tracks come later in the season. (Aragon, Phillip Island, maybe Valencia)

My only issue with that is he wanted his butt buddies to follow him but not others. It is what it is. If you are going to let your fellow ranchers follow you expect others to join.
Just watched it.
The VR46 bikes were both following Pecco for the tow until Pecco went wide. MM was following them. All were after a tow except for Pecco.

I don't have the impression that he wanted them to follow for the tow, but for the shield.

Pecco went out on track half minute later than the Spanish Armada, to avoid the tow.

The Spaniards didn't ride as fast as they would normally do even during siting laps.

I get what you are saying but I don't agree with the shield bit. He wanted his Academy ..... to tow him to shield the rest. To say it was a shield not a tow is saying that the vr46'ers were sacrificing their quali for Pecco. Thats just not the case. He wanted his masters buddies to tow him so others cannot and that makes his comments after quali hypocritical. I do agree that the slow riding waiting for a tow is not cool but it is part of the game.

As one of the commentators made the point, this is the first year for MM on the Ducati. No base setting for him at each circuit.
Yep he is using the tow again for more speed but for different reasons than when he was on the Honda in the last seasons on it. ie a decent machine but no setting vs those with history on the same brand who have a set up and experience at each circuit riding it.. Compared to a POS in the Honda that had no speed full stop.
I still remember others looking to him for a tow when the Honda was good.

Agree the VR46 riders were just after a tow too.

Yes, that was very clear. The question of course is whether something can/will be done about it.

I wasn't unhappy to see the VR46s get in front of MM93, and when MM93 was gesticulating, I was thinking 'play stupid games, win stupid prizes'.

Espargaro showed that you don't need a tow to do a good time. This isn't Moto3.
I also thought it pretty stupid of Marc to be gesticulating wildly at Digi when he was the ..... that let him through! Have been mildly disappointed with MM this season as I was expecting much more but he just looks to have lost his edge at the moment. Whether it’s the bikes that now don’t suit him with all the ride heights and .... im not sure but he’s a mere mortal now. As I thought at the time Pecco’s dominance of Marc in their early season clash has propelled him to reach a new level of ability but he can still be a queen as he showed in qual 2 with the slipping helmet sticker side show.

He is by far the best rider on the gp23 how can you say he has lost his edge? He is the only rider continuously competing with the ever developing gp24. He is still the best rider on the grid. Pecco isn't getting better the bike is. As I type this Pecco is sitting on his ... and out of the race.

Sprint's over. Terrible crash involving Morbidelli and Bezzechi, let's see if they can be fit for tomorrow. Pecco and Marc throw away points by crashing on their own, but Pecco tends to rebound strongly after these kinds of mistakes. The top 3 had such an imposing pace, they really were heads and shoulders over the rest, with Enea getting his first sprint win, he looks good for tomorrow. Aleix could only follow the Ducatis but couldn't do much.

It feels like Frantisek doesn't make less mistakes than Jörg but Jörg tends to make them when they're way more costly.

Marc with an unforced error which he absolutely needs to avoid in a championship battle. It probably doesn't matter that much this year though.

Imagine Enea, sneaking up on the top two, as the season drags on.

Just as in the races.

Great storyline.
I'd love to see that. Even with all the crashes from Pecco and Marc, the season feels pretty predictable.

In the event: Good for The Beast, glad to see Martin not throw it away with any last minute banzai moves, and cool seeing a geezer and all-round good guy like Alex up on the podium, on the Aprilia no less. Still not clear what happened with Acosta, but happy he hung in there. Hoping for a more eventful race tomorrow, but this being Silverstone, I'm not counting on it. Coming to accept that Marquez' days as super hero are done. I can't be spending the remainder of the season clutching my pearls, waiting for next year when he's on equal machinery with Pecco. Marc will be one year older, and Pecco will be one year more experienced with Ducati.

As I read this so is Marc.

Marc is fighting some sort of battle with himself. He nerfed Bulega at Misano, and he's trolling around at Silverstone looking for a tow. Didn't work, and then he crashed out of the sprint race. Since the announcement that he'll be joining the factory team, Marc seems anxious to prove himself.

Congrats to Bastianini. He deserves to have good fortune shine upon him. He spent last season trying to cope with the GP23, which didn't seem to suit his style of heavy trail braking. The GP24 is stabilizing as a platform, and it's allowing Enea to move forward. Silverstone seems well suited to his style too. Lots of time on the side of the tire.

Yikes, this mediocre nightmare can't end quickly enough for Bez. Nothing is going his way, and he really doesn't like the GP23. We'll see what happens at Aprilia.

Bastianini moves late, but he was able to get around Martin after only a handful of laps. He's the favorite for tomorrow. Battle between Martin and Pecco could get spicy in the GP.
