Who will be the 2009 champion and runners up?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (stoner27 @ Sep 21 2008, 01:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Hayden has as much talent as Stoner?? What drugs are you on..

Lets get some facts staright right now.
In 6 seasons in the Honda Factory team Nicky won only 3 races. Now this is a team that has won more Races/Championships then any othher team in History and Hayden could only win 3.
The 06 title was won cos Valentino lost it under pressure, not Hayden winning cos of his ability.
Now i like Nicky i always have i think he is the nicest guy in the paddock, and never has anything bad to say about anyone even that Little Prick Pedrosa, but Hayden isnt in the same league as Stoner and thats a fact. I think it was your own Eddie Lawson who said when it was a rumour that Hayden could go to Ducati, said that he wish him well but he aint no Stoner.

In Stoner first year in Motogp he took Pole in his first race, on a 3rd string Honda i might add then nearly won his second race.. In 07 he handed Capi his ..., and gave the Best ever a nice little touch up of 125 points to win the tittle. In 08 it was supposed to be Melandri who would show this little upstart up on the Red Bike, but we now know how good Melandri is.
Next year i beleive the GP09 will be something very special and if the powers that be dont .... ers around with Certain Aspects, and let the championship to be fought out between the 2 best in the world we could see another 07 with 10 wins for Stoner, who knows it wont be that easy.
As for Hayden i think he will do better then Melandri did, but he wont be in the top 5 in the standings.

My predictions are
Stoner
Rossi
Pedrosa/Lorenzo

Hey man i know what i said sounds very FANBOYISH it just makes me laugh when ppl
make silly assumptions like that. Anyway i hope Hayden does well cos i do like his work ethic, loyalty
and ability, i just dont think he has what it takes to win, even if he is on the fastest bike in the world..

I just cant agree with with you on that. Hayden has what it take to win races, he has proved that already, how reguraly he can do it and wheather he will be a WC contender next season all depends on how good he can gel with the Ducati, if it goes well for him I expect him to be at the very sharp end battling it out for the podium every race

I'm sorry, did you spend 2006 orally stimulating your prostate? Because while you had your head up your ..., Hayden happened to win a world championship.

For next year i doubt Yamaha can improve as much as they did for this year but you never know till you see it.I think Honda is going to make the biggest step up compared to this year.Ducati is going to improve too ofcourse. It's going to be interresting to see how the carbon frame and the"making it more civilised direction"turns out.
Anyway i think 2009 is too soon for the Suzuki and Kawasaki to catch up but in 2010 maybe. So the top 4 or 5 riders won't be riders of those teams.
I wouldn't be surprised if Honda wins the title and Repsol wins the team championship,it will probarbly be very tight between them and the Fiat Yamaha.

Riders:Stoner
Rossi
Pedrosa
Dovi
Lorenzo
Some one else Vermulen/Capirossi
Hayden
Kallio(I hope)

there are too many variables in motogp to argue about .... like this. rossi is currently the only rider in the GP that is an exception, because he has proven himself on different tires, bikes, and engine sizes over and over again.

arguing who is better between hayden and anyone else is ignorant, as hayden has not been in a position to be competitive for the past two seasons due to HRC. the season before he started getting the shaft, he won the championship. one could argue that since pedrosa has been getting the silver spoon and has not delivered results, that hayden is the better rider of the two seeing as he won the champtionship in 06 without getting half the treatment pedrosa is now. bottom line, until everyone is on the same bike and the same tire, no one knows who is ultimately the better rider. the only exception, like i said, is rossi.

Let's just say..... Hayden is not in my top 5 list.

clicks fingers

Currently I'd say:

Rossi
Stoner
Jorge

But depending on how pre-season goes I might change my mind.

In financial terms CV was the man to go for at this point last year...& we took a hit. So it has gotta be Hayden, that's pretty clear, Duc needs that American market. Bad.

EDIT: In fact I think I'm going to put my money where my mouth is, it's worth £20.

It was Qatar his second race where he took pole. He didn't almost win the race, he took off like a shot and turned his soft tires into charcoal briquettes. Nicky and Valentino battled briefly before Valentino took the win. Stoner was 7.5 seconds out.
And then he came second in Turkey...

So it seems you will be the first to cast them against eachother as rivals? Great, all we need is the third rivals duo on this forum to go along with theme X vs X.

Lets not start the Stoner vs Hayden thing, shall we. But if you choose to, I'll be more than happy to debate you. Especially if your first premise is to point to Stoner's 06 year to Hayden's.

Get a grip, I don't think Stoner is that much different or better/inferior than Hayden. So please, don't go all Rossi-Fan on me trying to present Casey as some kinda god, that level of cultic craziness is all ready taken. Stoner is good, but he ROYALLY ...... UP this year in THREE consecutive races! That alone I could write a book on. I've been one of Casey defenders (and not even a fan of the lad) from people who SOUND EXACTLY like you (but happen to be fans of another guy). You wanna make me Casey's biggest detractor? Well one way to do it is to come on trying to .... on Hayden for no good reason by trying to prop up your boy Mr. "Stoner27"--or should I just start calling you PINKY PART 2?

On topic:

My prediction for 09 (Assuming Control tire...oh, assuming everybody gets the same ...., otherwise Rossi champ).

1. Hayden
2. Stoner
3. Rossi
4. Lorenzo
5. Dovi

Its a ....... prediction, don't get all sensitive people.

I think we need to qualify that statement with....Nicky is a demon on MICHELIN qualifiers....which are known to be better than Bridgestone Qs....so we shall see if he can keep pace in Qs next year....

My prediction;

Rossi
Lorenzo
Pedrosa
Stoner
Gibernau
Toseland
CV
Elias
DeAngelis
Hayden

This is irregardless of tyre and fuel rule changes....

You think Melandri and Hopper can do something with the Kawasaki?! No way either will top Elias on the Honda. Where's Edwards? I think he is a Top 10 contender. Much more on the Yamaha than the Kawasaki's and maybe the Suzuki's.

Thats a good one ill have too use that one hey..

But yes then lets talk about 06, a year where his team mate won 4 races in a year, where Hayden has only won 3 races in 6 Seasons.. Let talk about Assen 06 where he nor Edwards wanted to win that race, if i remember he gave up the lead on the second last lap, and only won cos Edwards cant ride out a race. The last thing i wanted to do is turn this into a Hayden vs Stoner, cos i like Hayden, but the fact is Ducati hired Hayden to sell 1098s in America/ Canada and if he can ride well then thats a bonus, Marco Simoncelli will be on that bike in 2010 just watch..

And yes i do watch every race religiously i have been since 1987 when i was a 12 year old.
I dont know what you were doing in 1987, mabe you were ORALLY STIMULATING YOUR PROSTATE..
