Yeah, cos all they do is whack the throttle to the stop and let the ECU do all the rest...

That ECU must also tell them exactly when and how much to pull the brake lever, when to tip in, how hard to tip in, how much weight to put on the pegs and the exact body position, etc etc etc blah blah. Clever little thing, eh? Who knew neuromechanics had come so far?

That post wasn't pulled from the likes of crash.net circa 2007 was it?

Its amazing how anyone fails in Moto GP isnt it. Rider after rider who were the cats ... in another series come and go, and most never do figure out how to ride these bikes that ride themselves.  They are the hardest bikes in the world to learn to ride fast.

I'm throwing my hat in the ring. Honda, Yamaha, Ducati or craps. I hereby advise all teams I am available ti compete in the 2014 season. I only want 1 million salary, travel, food, accommodation and baby sitting. I have experience, been riding all manner of motorcycles for over 16 years. My 600 is fast and it doesn't have this gps auto control thingie. I can also make my tyres last at least two to three months. So this should be a cakewalk. I am also Australian, history will tell you we are all awesome and fast. I await your offers.....

Thinking Honda and Yam mite be a bit closer this weekend, the track layout seems hondaish but they haven't had many top class wins in MotoGP only Rossi 03 and Dani last year in the wet. We have any news on weather from Sepang for this weekend?

If its Dry

Weve seen a number of rookies over the past few years be competitive straight away. That is a new and unprecented phenomena that began right around the time complex electronics were put in the bikes. Johnny Rea spent only hours on the RCV and was able to finish 7th.

These are the most rider friendly bikes in the world and there are many examples to show that just about anyone can ride them fast

Complete rubbish, these bikes have more set up variables than any other class, by a very long way, I asked James Toseland what they were like, he said that the set up was so critical and the options so huge you could tie yourself in knots in seconds, as he did. Many talented riders can go quite well, but to get the set up spot on is an art form. Then you need the immense talent of the few to ride them to the limit.

As far as you know.

Just off the top of my head, rookies who were competitive before electronics

Agostini

Rossi

KR

Rainey

Lawson

Spencer

You are a perfect example of the Rossi bandwagon fan who knows nothing about the history of the sport, and if you think GP bikes are the most rider friendly race bikes , you dont know much about the current state of GP either.

Johnny Rea finished behind every other Honda and Yamaha. That 7th place wasn't really anything special, especially when theres only 8 bikes that can win, and IIRC Bradl crashed out of that race anyways... so he finished LAST PLACE.

Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Marquez were/are very competitive in their rookie season. That is undoubtedly due to their skills and talent, but I believe they were also helped a lot by being lucky enough to have a really good team straight away.

Agreed, and they came from pure racing prototypes, that taught them about the many variables involved in the set up, riders from WSB and SS have not had this, as Cal Crutchlow also found out, though he seems to have grasped it.

moi predictiones.

1. JL (If his fans can't believe he can do it, what chance does the poor bugger have)

2. DP

3. MM (actually had pace to win, but every time he gets close, Dani shakes his tiny little fist and Mark backs off.)

4. SB

5. CC

6. VR

7. AB

8. AD

9. BS

10. NH

That and the launch control allows you to rev to the moon and dump the clutch without sending your front wheel to the moon, the wheelie control that allows the rider to pin it coming out of a corner without the front wheel coming off the ground, the wheelspin control that makes the 250 horsepower manageable, the gps controlled traction control that allows the rider to pin it halfway thru a corner, the fuel management that adjusts the flow if your running low on fuel, the multiple maps that change engine characteristics when tires become worn, and the score of guys with laptops plugged in analyzing data.

Go back and watch Rossis rookie season. He binned it half the time trying to find the limit.

If he had todays rider aids WHICH MAKE THE BIKES EASIER TO RIDE he very likely could have won the championship

But all the others would be benefitting from them as well, and having an easier time, bad point johnny.

How so.

Rossi only lost because of all the points he lost by crashing early on. Its all relative. Everyone would have been faster but Rossi was faster then all of them. He most likely would have cruised home to the title if he had kept it upright

Are we schilling for corporate sponsors now? Never seen someone put the race sponsors name in the title.

So, if Marquez is penalized, say is sent to the  rear of the grid, what should be his strategy.  if i were his team, i would send him out for 1 lap in qualifying to make the 107%, then pull him in for 2 reasons. One to save rider from risk of injury, and two,   send a big .... you to Dorna. Qualifying  is the most exciting part of a GP weekend [except for hookers and blow] and i wouldnt expose my rider or equipment to make Dorna happy. Let them face the fans disappointment in not being able to see the face of the series go out to entertain them with his  balls out qualifying laps. As far as the race, i would set a realistic goal of 5th, and anything better would be gravy. Then hope your pissed off teammate saves you 5 points by winning

I predict Nicky "The Kentucky Squid" Hayden to finish behind a CRT........ that's about the only thing I look forward to nowadays in MotoGP.

Bring back Kawasaki and Suzuki, and get rid of stupid CRT and whatever the fudge else class they are adding into it.  It's fuccin' .........

And Stoner could have won 5 titles on the trot if Ducati didnt have their tires stolen from them...see how easy it is to play this game.

Sounds like you just finally admitted that the racing sucks balls

Not at all. They are not racing each other for track position in qualifying, but they are showing what the bike is capable of with a few hot laps, and thats exciting to me.
