£5 a ticket it should be heaving every track would be.

Although i'm sure £5 for most Malaysians is a lot of money it still sounns very cheap. Malaysias GDP per capita is about half that of the uk .I wonder how much Sepang pay Dorna to host the event and whether thats government subsidised?  They were saying on TV that the tarmac was looking quite worn out and getting bumpy.

Cheapest single day ticket £5. Full weekend grandstand pass £35. Bike parking £2 per day, car parking £7.5. Transit from KL to the circuit £10, taxi £20 and takes about 1.5 hr each way... Not a cheap weekend for locals... Then again to be a biker here you gotta be well healed. About £24,000 for a bog standard new BMW 1000rr... And there was a ..... load of new BMs and Ducs! Don't know Sepang's cost but it is Gov't and corporate (Petronas and Yamaha Malaysia) subsidized.

I'm with you on MM's past transgressions, having been a big Wilairot fan. Unfortunately I also believe in redemption and change!

Me too.  However given his recent comments about the Wilairot incident, and his recalcitrant indifference to RD's supposed warning, I'd say he still has a ways to go.

I said as much at the start of the season, hoping this kid would set aside dangerous tactics for those employed by the surgical ones of Stoner, Lorenzo, and Pedrosa (though people find them boring, I find the precision admirable).  You know Mick (and my detractors will skip over this, though I've been on record saying it at the start) of the 4 contenders, MM is 2nd of the riders I'd root for, ironically.  He is spectacular and talented, my problem with the lad is his propensity to put others in peril (and not acknowledge it or make the adjustment, worse yet state openly "In the end, I will be the same.") and I have trouble getting past the favoritism shown to him (not his fault) and rather the issue is with the League.

Think about this for a moment, if any part of the decision when he smashed into Wilarot was made giving a thought in regards to jeapordizng his title then the issue of safety was corrupted, period! This point cannot be overstated.  Most of us agree that this was part of the decision making process, given that Dorna have a say, and a steak in the sanction's repercussion, and (as we were reminded this weekend, the "show" has tremendous forces influencing the process, the show must go on is the same pressure as, this is the show we want).  Who here thinks that the men deciding the sanction to not suspend MM for a race after that incident was devoid of thoughts for his title? On my way to work this morning, I thought how amazing it is that we are having similar conversations now as we had surrounding Sic before his death.  Even the same players are involved, Pedrosa and Lorenzo were pooped on for saying he was dangerous and pointing out RD's lack of attention to the matter. We either don't learn from mistakes, or we have rationalized them as different, OR the pressures/demands are so compelling for "the show" to risk again, at best hoping for escape or believing the rarest of incidents won't strike twice, at worst the guys pocketing the money are making a calculated business decision.

I'm not sure I can help with another analogy, but I will try and explain why I think what J-Lo and MM were doing is nothing like what MM did to DP.

There are a lot of grey areas in racing, however there are some that are black and white (except when they're not, Laguna Seca)

For convienience, I have posted a video of le smack

Go ahead and watch, I'll wait....

Now, imagine that instead of that nice big runoff area, the track limits are defined by a 9ft high brick wall. That would be an attractive Marky Mark stain on that wall wouldn't it?

Now I realise the runoff areas are there for safety, and so they should be, but they are not acceptable race surfaces. There are only 2 acceptable reasons for being in there.

1: You ...... up

2: Someone else ...... up/was riding like a .... and left you no racing room.

Now, I think we're all agreed Dani is the innocent victim here, so we can rule out reason 2, leaving only one explanation for Mark being in the runoff.

He ...... up. He's a great rider, I'll give him that and he always rides on the ragged edge. The only downside with being constantly on the edge is that, sometimes you're gonna fall off. He left his braking too late and overcooked the corner. Even if Dani hadn't been there, he wouldn't have been able to stand the bike up again without using the runoff.

Compare this to J-Lo and Marky Mark.

I've found another video. Aren't I good to you guys? Incidently, this video gave me a boner.

That's two guys battling. Staying within the defined limits of the track. Sure, there's a couple of love taps, but nobody is being driven off the track, and nobody is being smacked hard enough to knock them onto an entirely different line.

^^^^^^

Wow, proper racing like I remember from the Schwantz, Rainey, Doohan era

Obviously there is a clear difference from the mm/dp and j-lo/mm incidences.. mm/dp was mm going in to hot and getting off line. j-lo/mm was very close racing tussling for the same line. mm was a tad careless with dani where as lorenzo and marques was very close and skilled.

For the record i have no problem with either and think the 1 point was wrong. Rubbing is racing as they say. It's not like mm did an Alias on dani. It was the slightest of touches and just bad luck the sensor was damaged.. What Dani did to hayden in 06 and Rossi to stoner when he wiped him out was far worse but still imho a racing incident.

Even God thought Pedros torpedo on Nick was ...... up. This is why after 7 years, (God loves this number and often uses it so u know it is His will) He sent His Son to 'collect'.

Dont u know anything u infidel heathen gimp?

hahaha, Marquez is the new Jesus sent down to earth to wipe out satans offspring dani.  Always new puig was running a satanic cult disguised at a race school.

You gotta like Lorenzo more and more.

This guy really shows some bollocks, and I really think that - for this race - if it wasn't for the machine difference, Marquez would be third.

Go J-Lo ! Used to be an ass, now is more of a badass.

It looks like Lorenzo has just woken up to the fact that he really liked the cut and thrust of 250 racing and he was as good at the fairing-banging as anybody. Those years where he and Pedrosa and Stoner all agreed to be polite little vegemites were not Jorge's natural style - he's a brawler.

Thanks Marquez! Bringing racing back to racing!
