And apparently MM is now playing games (quoted from another forum)

Last outlap, MM was following to follow on the hot lap. VR slowed to a virtual stop, MM just cruised along behind, not going past. Then as they put the hammer down, MM wound up almost beating JLo's fastest having red sectors in the first three, but missing out by less than a tenth and a half.

If he wins i think that's the last we see of him in racing capacity... so there's that. I don't think it's a sure fire either. One can only assume AI, DP, MM, JL will all be strong during the race. All of which have gotten the better of VR recently.

As far as FP3 times Rossi was quoted as saying, "Fans, don't worry. I 'find something' on Sunday... A file marked 'JL Geometry', on the C-Drive of Massimo's laptop. New feel is, not so bad".

Well that's it...I'm still not convinced a Rossi title is a foregone conclusion. With how the other guys are riding, simply cruising to a 2nd or 3rd place finish is no longer guaranteed. He needed a 3rd desperately last weekend, and couldn't get it done. He needs no less than 3rd at Sepang...and you've got potentially 4 riders who could finish ahead of him.

Yeah he was looking for the tow I heard.

Heh, this is starting to backfire in VR's face.

You have 2 riders to be worried about ............. Marquez and Lorenzo

Personally, Ianonne will not get in Rossi's way but may work in Rossi's favour if the situation called for it (hell, I am sure we all remember the good old Italian/Spanish mafia days of the smaller classes)

Pedrosa is the wild card though as he may decide to play but he is not really that type. If he gets a holeshot and lead, then he will try to stay there which may be an issue for the following riders but I do not expect that he will cause anyone grief, he never has so why start now although it is possible that he will steal places, I have not seen enough as yet.

Iannone had no problem getting in Rossi's way at Phillip Island. He's going to want to follow up that race with another great showing. There's too much upside here for him that precludes sandbagging just so Rossi can get precious points.

I just have this feeling that after Rossi's bizarre press conference, guys are going to be less inclined to help him out now...if anything they might be looking to repay him for a whole bunch of past .... should the opportunity present itself.

He (Pedrosa) did cause Rossi a fair amount of grief Aragon and Motegi :)

Exactly...I wouldn't count Dani out just yet. Even if he is not a factor in Sepang, he could be in Valencia. He's been on the podium there the last 3 seasons. So if VR is still chasing the title in Valencia, that is going to be a hell of an interesting race obviously.

Yes he did, but after being attacked by Rossi fans who were put in their place by Rossi himself, Ianonne then suddenly seemed to agree that MM was slowing them up to benefit JL

I do not see Ianonne finishing in front or battling with Rossi ......... once bitten, twice shy perhaps

This is a bogey track for Jlo. I see VR leaving here in the lead if not extending it. All this dry practice will mean shat if it rains Sunday. And given the pattern of this season, it will pour.

Valencia is where Pedrosa will come to play, just think that at Sepang he will play if he has to but he is also a genuine rider who will not get involved in championship deciding skirmishes.

Except of course that one little exception.

Well...hate the be the bearer of whine news, but...

View attachment 11364

For me, I'm astonished how this grotesque whine has played out and more fascinating is how he's not only got a pass, but rather its been perceived as this mastermind gamesmanship (frankly in all the years I've been watching I cannot remember anything similar, Arrabi has been eerily silent, but I'd wonder if he remembers anything like this).

I also estimate that if Casey Stoner did this he'd already be hung and quartered (keep in mind, this wasn't a comment after the heat of battle, this is something that has simmered in the convoluted mind of VR enough for him to print out charts and write out notes, etc. Its like he's gone mad, but with the comfort that no matter how insane he gets many would nod their heads in admiration like, wow, this guy is a mensa mastermind genius. That's of course my opinion (which I've shat all over the place).

I hadn't actually seen any of this until this afternoon. I watched the entire episode. I don't think I ever really disliked Rossi. I took more issue with his fans. This thing has altered that for me now. I was really struck by what a whinging .... he was in that press event. His teflon has clearly peeled off. Additionally, Rossi can no longer intimidate his opponents. I don't think Lorenzo, Marc or Dani are going to be manipulated by Rossi's comments.

Rossi will have to win this championship by leading, not intimidating. One the biggest and most effective tools he's come to rely on (games) is now without utility. The competition has improved, they have their own fans and they've seen Rossi underperform enough to know that he's entirely beatable.

As for Casey, this would have caused an absolute inextinguishable eruption had he made similar accusations. The fact that Marc won the race and passed Lorenzo is the beginning and end of this manufactured controversy. I shall now settle this internal debate and declare that I want Rossi to lose. Now and in the future ad infinitum.

Exactly this. I am no fan of MM's but he rides for HRC afaik and if his race strategy resulted in him actually winning the race, in the process beating both Lorenzo and Rossi, without him doing anything either illegal or dirty, surely no more can be required of him.
