@jumkie, like i said in an earlier post, he probably just didn't notice that spies was there cuz he was celebrating, but i think it irked spies a bit as he moved away shaking his head...oh well...i'm pretty sure it wasn't intentional.

That arrogant ....... Lorenzo is showing his true colors now. He think he's a master at mindgames too, but clearly the way he acted and carried himself after today's race showed how truly insecure he really is. Mario and Luigi .... and that 'game over' flag was directed at Valentino Rossi, to say that it was game over for Rossi now and that he'd won the 'mindgames'. It was clear to see that Lorenzo knew Ben was there or another rider.... Mario and Luigi even pointed it out to him that Ben was there reaching out for a handshake. Then he also saw Rossi, or knew it was another rider cuz Rossi was tuggin his shoulder area for more that a few seconds.... and you can tell when Lorenzo turned to face Rossi.... he already knew who it was. He then shook Rossi's hand but seem to refuse to make eye contact. Next up.... he rolls his bike in parc ferme on Rossi's place, probably to signify to Rossi that he's the number 1 rider...... he moved out of the way, and Rossi rode into his place.... though not before Rossi kind of shook his head in disbelief, you can see it.... it wasn't clearly as Ben Spies, but it was there. Lorenzo then proceeded to go on the top step of the podium..... and after everything he refuse to celebrate on the podium. I mean, i thought taking pictures of the winners on podium was mandatory?

watch this if and find out for yourself... the more times you watch it, the more you'll see it.

Lorenzo is such a fake... the way he tries to portray himself to the media.

Great race and congrats to Jorge. Seemed like spies was calling him out and someone was even telling him a rider was there but he looked like only caring about reading his game over sign. Surely the bike sound and arm pulling should have let him know some riders were there.. He deffinetly paid attention to his friends Que on when to show the sigh. Other then that everything else was pretty funny.

I didn't see the same malicious behaviour that you did. I thought he was too overwhelmed to realise what was going on when Spies tried to shake his hand. I'm sure that Lorenzo would speak to Ben about that anyway to ensure that he knew he wasn't being snubbed.

I actually laughed at the "game over" sign and thought it was appropriate. The game is over for 2010. Normally I think he tries too hard but had no issue with this. If he can't celebrate when he wins a world championship, when can he?

He did look at Rossi's helmet and make eye contact and even if he didn't on the bike, he definitely did on the podium when they shook hands.

I thought he was being a goose (in a trying to be comical sense) when he rolled into position 1 in parc farme but I didn't see Rossi looking annoyed.

I thought coming down off the podium wasn't the best thing to do as there are a few protocols but I thought it was good intentioned. He wanted to share the champagne with those without which he would never have won the championship.

Just my two cents.

Whether it was an intentional "snub" or not is debatable. That it irked Spies is not. Ben sat beside Jorge for an inordinately long period of time with his hand offered in congrats and when he was ignored he he gave an obvious head-shake as he accelerated away.

What's to discuss? The fact that you and a few are trying to make this a talking point is chickenshit. Give the man his day without trying to throw some ........ into it.

Agree, I saw what you describe, but as you say, I seriously doubt it was intentional (as you already stated). My problem is people barking up some ........ talking point by projecting their own feelings. Lorenzo genuinely seemed out of his mind. His body was prob numb and his vision very tunnel.

What's funny is you seemed to describe what you saw but forgot to mention Jorge was repeatedly bowing his head as if in tears. Dude was out of his mind, even when he rolled into parc ferme, you can see him bow his head again, as I'm sure he still couldn't believe what was happening.

+1 couldn't agree more.

Geez, the voice of reason. Anyway, I think that vid that StupidShitya put up says it all in the closing credits. Basically its SOUR GRAPES.

(BTW, while Rossi pat him on the shoulder, its Lorenzo who extends his hand.)

Lorenzo had just realized his life dream...winning the moto gp championship, and had all his crew around him celebrating, so if he did not shake Ben's hand, quit giving him .... about it...jeez you people are so polemic its ridiculous. he was clearly overwhelmed with what he had just accomplished.

Ad Rossi, what a race...nobody but Rossi can do that, and continues to amaze.

Also well done Elias, now looks like he may go over to Pramac...

And I am happy for Rolfo on his first Moto 2 win.

LOL that's a good one, coming for you that is.

Me, I couldn't care less. The only tiny bit that matters is if Ben shook his head in disgust or just implying that they guy, as you said, was out of his mind. That could mean a lot for the general tone in the team next year. But then again according to rumors the behavior of his fellow team member is not a major factor for Ben anyway. So it's all meaningless regardless of what it really was meant to be.

Congrats to 2010 Moto GP champion Jorge Lorenzo. Smart to play it safe.

Dovi, this should give anybody pause about who runs Repsol #1 & #2.. His bike was fast and this is a result of him taking full advantage.

Rossi, congrats on win. What happen to detuned engine, .... tires, tech3 bike, etc.?

To anybody here saying Lorenzo snubed Spies or anybody else, to a man (and u know who each of u are); you guys r ....... idiots and r just looking at imaginary reason for sour grapes. Dude just won lifelong dream, tears r prob running in his eyes infront of a few of his personal buddies, he was out of his mind. Hes got no beef with Spies. Good on Rossi to shake his hand, Lorenzo acknowleged too and that was that. What u guys want, for them to suck eachothers ....? Again, anybody saying it was a snub, u r a ....... moron!

Ducat is ..... That front end is a hazard.

Talpa, the new pinky.

A bit bitchy over such a small thing? if it was/wasnt a snub who the .... cares either way, it will make for an interesting battle next year within yamaha if true. You haters jump on comments against any of rossi's rivals quicker than the boppers do over anti rossi comments.

....And....so caseys front end IS a hazard, but nobody must suggest that rossi's bike hasnt always been up to scratch. Funny how hayden doesnt drop it as much.

What you saw on the TV does not show everything it happened. Look at the middle picture of the first low. JL put his face down on the bike, not knowing Ben is beside him. Look at the picture second from left of the first low. Rossi and Lorenzo are blessing each other. It was not a snub at all.

Spot on. He actually did not move the bike himself in parc-freme. It was his team rolling him back, while Rossi is waiting behind. He must have felt that the bike is rolling backwards, but did not look up. And Rossi did shake his head in diss-belief.

Wow ..... and moan at Lorenzo!!

Just wait a while and I'll come up with something to cry about him and post it up.

<

Good race...well done to Rossi and Dovi. Congrats Jorge. Good to see Vale winning again.

At first yeh, i was a little like wtf with Lorenzo not shaking spies hand. But like others said before, he was definitely out of his mind after having his dream come true. As far as I know Spies and Lorenzo have no problems. Spies' shake of the head was perhaps more of a ".... it, i tried" type of thing. I don't think it was anything malicious

Also I'm spot on about one Casey Stoner.......just beaten to yet another championship, yet hes still the best rider ever......right?? Just knocked to 4th in the title race, despite starting ever race. Not even in the same league as Dani........??
<

Stoner's DNF record from 'losing the front' must be getting close to matching Rossi's GP win record!!!!

Reading this makes it sound all a bit Kevin Schwantz. Stoner is spectacular on the bike and always gives the impression he's about to do something special, but when it comes down to it he doesn't get the results most of us think he should.

Bottom line; Lorenzo is not a "creative" personality. His gimmicks are likely thought up by other non-creative types,ie:

mechanics and truck drivers. He's possesses no awareness of how cardboard-ish his little theater pieces are. He strikes

me as almost a borderline personality. He's a very two-dimensional jock who's been racing since he was a little kid. He's

been around the world multiple times but sees the same transport trucks, mobile homes, discos and bars over and over

again. Probably never been to a museum in his life. He's not exposed to creative people and probably couldn't relate to

them if he did. And really - the stuff Rossi does isn't exactly high art either. It's all tediously trite and sophmoric.

What a load of ..... The depth of this judgement based on so little knowledge of his character is hilarious.

Whether it was an intentional "snub" or not is debatable. That it irked Spies is not. Ben sat beside Jorge for an inordinately long period of time with his hand offered in congrats and when he was ignored he he gave an obvious head-shake as he accelerated away.

If Spies is pissed off because of this then he is being pretty pathetic and would go down a lot in my estimation. If Ben or any of the other riders want to give Jorge a meaningful and sincere congratulations they will have plenty of chances around the paddock in the next few weeks, hand shakes on the cool down lap are a token gesture so everyone seems like a nice guy while the cameras or on. I don't think Ben or Jorge will be bothered about this at all.

Spies' shake of the head was perhaps more of a ".... it, i tried" type of thing. I don't think it was anything malicious

I think this is far more likely to be the case. Spies made the effort, Lorenzo was busy. I'm sure they'll catch up at some other point and it doesn't matter.

Why bother with pics when video shows so much more.

What did he achieve. He had the fastest bike and pole position in Japan on a bike that was designed for that track and could do nothing with it.

The week before Spies applied a little pressure to him (on a faster bike) and he folded. He's been on that bike for 3 years. He's had pleny of time to come to grips with it

I dunno Compa. I mean he is 5th in the championship

In 3 more races he could be 3rd

Did a decent job of fending off The Goat (a rider who he's never battled before)

Got 2nd on the podium

Had very constant results all season

All on a bike that had been dialed down to keep him from rocking the boat - which

I reckon - he's known all along. Psychologically - it's has to have been a hard pill

to swallow all season long - and now he has to adjust a new way of thinking and

build up confidence to go that last step up. After two years on the factory team

Colin Edwards hadn't accomplished as much. The bar is set pretty high.

Of all the riders lower down in the standings - the only one other than Spies and Stoner who

strike me as having more potential on the Honda is Bautista - who I think is more focused

and more talented than Dovi.

As much as I remember he did battle with Rossi before and Rossi actually fell? Dont remember what race it was.

And Hayden doesn't podium much either. All the Duc riders have struggled. It's pretty clear the handling

of the Duc is very much counter intuitive. Who could think otherwise?
