Has there not been Race of Champions in previous years? My attempts to find previous years' videos and results have failed.

I wonder what happens to the bikes that were raced. I'm guessing that if Ducati chose to, they could be sold at a premium. Except for Bulega's bike. No, I'm not thinking of buying one :D
The commentators mentioned that it takes place every 2 years. It started in 2018, skipped 2020 and then 2022 (which was the first one I saw).

Thanks. I probably heard that said, but there's my memory once again.

I found the 2022 results (won by Bagnaia), and an article about 2018 which mentions some finishers but doesn't give a full list. It also says that the 2018 bikes were sold on Ebay, with the bike ridden by Troy Bayliss selling for much more than any other bike - £107,000. All 13 World Ducati Week Race of Champions Panigales sold

I can imagine they will sell for astronomical amounts.
In terms of the new Panigale, I found it a bit underwhelming in the looks department though. Doesn't come close to the outgoing one...

I will make a prediction that the bike ridden by Marc Marquez will sell for the most - if they are sold.

Iannone giving Ducati 1 more reason to pay attention
His recent results in WSBK haven't been so worthy of attention or I should say, attention for the right reasons. I'd say Ducati would be crazy if they gave him a factory seat in WSBK but they gave Petrucci a factory seat in MotoGP so it's quite possible.

Could see them ending up with national SBK teams in Europe if they can be made to comply with series regs?

Bulega will have learnt from the Marc overtake and his subsequent crash

Were they running Pirellis? They were in 2018, I don't know about 2022 and 2024

Bagnaia beating Marc on equal machinery, I'm sure there are people out there predicting the 2025 season based on the outcome of this race :)

I mentioned Bagnaia beating Marquez on equal machinery, but I don't take that information any more seriously than I take performance in FP1 on a Friday. Or perhaps less. But, if there are any mind games afoot (and saying that mind games don't affect someone is quite likely mind games), then this is a bit interesting. A tiny bit interesting.

I wasn’t suggesting that anyone here was thinking that way, apologies if it came over that way
