Summer break news/Chat thread

I'm catching up on all the full races for all classes now. It's been great to see everything again, and more than I saw before.

However, there are downsides too. In the Moto2 coverage from France, there is what sounds like a fart from one of the commentators. Surprised that they didn't cut that out.

One of the redeeming features of a riders success or failure is what those riders did with their tyres. Over the years we have heard little snippets of tyre info, for example;
Stoner made the front tyre collapse going into the corner increasing the size of the contact patch
Doohan was able to ride more quickly on a wasted rear tyre
Rossi was able to analyse each tyre used in practice aka “The Doctor”
Miller could ride quickly but not preserve the tyres resulting in been dropped from Ducati
Bastainini was given the ride having got a reputation for being quick while preserving the tyres
M Marquez this year when stuck behind Morbidelli knew he was going to get past as he could see that Morbidelli was using up his tyre
And possibly the most interesting tyre story was M Marquez letting DiGi overtake him so he could sit behind allowing the front tyre to heat up. It appears that he had deliberately gone out on a slightly under inflated tyre expecting to spend more time in traffic than he did

In Paris that’s what passes for air-conditioning.

Perhaps Remy should be more like Marc, i.e., not act like a ....? Isn't that pretty much what got Remy the boot?
His management were more the problem I think. But Raul has acted like a grumpy .... for 3 yrs, yet he's still around.

I think my point is more, a Moto2 champion should be more of a fair crack than half a season on what was a crap bike.

Christian Pupulin, who serves as Jack Miller's technical manager at KTM, will join Honda next year and replace Giacomo Guidotti on Luca Marini's side of the garage.

Interestingly, Daniele Romagnoli (Martins engineer at Pramac) has been told by Ducati his services won;t be needed next yr, so he is likely headed to Aprilia with his rider.

Interesting. Had no idea he was dealing with this - on top of all the injuries he sustained. CFS is a ...... I’ve been dealing with it since my late 30s. But hell, to do all the training he did, and all the time spent in the recuperative process from his injuries is a serious testament to his strength of will. He is hugely fortunate to have found doctors who were knowledgeable about treatment for CFS. There are so many deluded snake oil charlatans out there claiming to treat CFS, and very few legit specialists offering effective treatment. Also, not always easy to find doctors who do legit stem cell therapy. CFS is not just injurious to the physical self, but also, drags down the emotional/intellectual well-being that powers the self-confidence needed to be so highly competitive, all of which makes the accomplishments of Stoner and Pedrosa even more impressive.
