I am not seeing one race as definitely being representative of the entire season.
Yeah Marc looked great but he wont have that margin at every track.
Sure he is the favourite but he also rides over the limit more than others and comes off. I expect that to happen on occasion and the injury risk is still there.
Still the best I have watched but pushes the bike harder than anyone else too.

I was expecting Marc and Pecco results to be reversed at least on the first race, not only due to little testing, but Pecco had a GP24 bike for a year, and the GP25 is basically the same thing. MM seems to be on another zipcode now, even though he said he could never be at his 100% again, due to numerous injuries. If he can clinch another title (or two), he'd be cemented as the GOAT, not only in titles and statistics, but in raw talent. And like somebody mentioned already, he seems to be riding even relaxed now, just pushing what is needed to do the job... which is exactly the right approach, especially at his age. Finally, sometimes watching a masterful performance is not that fun, but still satisfying. And I'm sure other tracks will have more action later, once his 'prefered' ones are behind.

Sure, there are tracks where Pecco will have the upper hand. Thing is, the next two rounds are Marc strongholds. I could see Marc walking away with all 74 points on display and that'll put extra pressure on Pecco when we get to his more favorable European rounds. He's gonna need a ton of patience.

Then again, if the sport was entirely predictable, we wouldn't watch it. Tech issues happen, clashes, etc. We'll see.

I'll disagree and say the counterpoint is the last time he came out of the gate like this was in 2019 when he demolished the entire field in the pre-sprint era.

I would also say he never should have had the margins he had at most every track that season save his special circuits. I mean ffs the bike ended Jorge Lorenzo's career and Marc singlehandedly won't the WCC championship.

Yeah he definitely rides over the limit more than others. But he's the best because he's willing to ride on the limit and push there. Wouldn't be Marc Marquez otherwise.

I agree overall, but for the fact that he never really looked anything but in control this weekend. Pecco said he was at his limit today, and that was just to trail behind Alex, and look at the way Marc pulled away from Alex in the last lap - effortlessly in like two corners he pulled away multiple bike lengths.

That was impressive. 😎 But as Alex said post race Marc had saved his tyres whilst Alex cooked his.
He wont always have that margin. Pecco will improve and there are circuits where Pecco will be very strong.
Hopefully JPS is right and Marc has the ability to recognise he cannot win all of the time and settle for second best when that is the case.
Yep Marc is the best but there is still strength in others. If Marc recognises that and stays uninjured it should be his.

What should worry others is Marc said he doesn't care about winning all the time, or riding over the limit all the time anymore. Also that he has achieved a lot already, and he's just having fun. Apparently he finally matured. Ha ha. And if he's riding that good relaxed, watch out. Guess we'll find out how aggressive he's willing to be when he eventually needs to battle for a win. As a side comment, I'm sure his boss is very happy to have chosen him. Not only because he's the best, but the ton of extra exposure (and hopefully sales) he'll bring to the brand.

that is a joke for 5G
That was on my tablet using the phone as a hotspot.
Today the tablet is reporting 22.8Mbps but the phone direct 139Mbps.
Fiik why the phone is limiting the connection speed so much when using it as a hotspot.
(sorry about clogging the thread with personal tech incompetence, let's leave it there)
(d'oh googled it it and had the phone on 2.4ghz setting. changed it too 5ghz and got 171Mbps 🙄 )

Most everything has been said but I'll just add I thought it was great, especially after the sprint, how Marc met and embraced the Gresini team. It's also great to see he is genuinely happy for Alex's success.

I disagree on the GP25. He barely looked like he was pushing this weekend in the sense he looked mostly as smooth as butter.

Last time he had a bike anywhere near this dominant was 2014. I'm not saying he'll win the first 10 races, but this is the first time we are seeing him on what is the best bike by some margin.

I couldn't make the end of this race either... checked out at around the penultimate lap, just too dull and I can find a better way to spend my time...

What ended up being MMs problem?

True with respect to the bike but the aero and ride height have made it harder to push the front as hard as he used to.
Hopefully you are right, he is my favourite rider too. I would love to see him dominate.
Just not counting my chickens before they hatch. I still think Pecco will improve too.

Sure - of course nobody expects him to win every race. Saving tires, is a strategy the old Marc would not have considered. Tho, his pace while following Alex wasn't all that much slower than that of Alex and yet, still faster than Pecco. And . . . he did it while sitting on Alex's tail - which means his front tire was taking the heat from Alex's exhaust which in itself is detrimental to tire wear. My takeaway - is that Marc was saving his own energy, giving his brain some respite and also - conserving fuel so he could dial up the map setting on the last lap for maximum Hp. The conspiracy-minded among us might speculate that the whole scenario was pre-planned.

How long before the Rossi Cult on Crash start calling Alex Marc's bitch?

LOL - Back when he came into the premiere class, most here were calling him Murder Marc and when after his first season, I said there were signs of Marquez evolving, people laughed at the suggestion. Sure it took a decade and s..t-ton of horrendous injuries before he seriously started to dial back the show-boating, but here it is.

Yeah Marc was there to get heat and pressure in the front. He was able to save the rear. You could see Alex's starting to slide/spin out of corners later before Marc passed. Marc did seem to have margin though agreed, which may have been part of the reason he could save the rear.

Rossi cult members are a write off asfaic 😉😁
