Cracking first few laps but looks like the field is spreading out again. Top 3 same as yesterday, Ogura still impressing (and so is Miller, until he decides to throw it down), Acosta doing his best 2024 Acosta impression by crashing the bike, the Hondas looking sharp. 20 laps to go still.

Mir is overtaking tons of bikes and none of that is shown on TV coverage. When people complain about boring races, it's also because of Dorna's obsession with only showing the top group.

edit: and he bins it
Yeah, I've been annoyed by that for years. F1 shows a replay of every overtake even if it's for 15th.

And it's finito. Marc simply shot away once he got past Alex and got his first opening race win since 2014. The tire pressure rule still is bull excrement (will this get past the word filter?) and should be subjected to more criticism from the journos, it's not racing. But anyway, Marc's back.

Ducati didn't repeat its top 8 lockout from the previous year (obviously, with two fewer bikes) but they got the top 4 locked, Morbido did alright, DiGia is probably still far from fit. Ogura repeated his fascinating performance of yesterday. Miller aside, the Yamahas were the disappointment of the race for me. Bastianini proved me wrong after a disastrous preseason, let's see if he clicks with the bike.

It's so weird to see Marc winning and Tardozzi happy at the same time.

Notables:
Morbidelli actually was impressive for once.
Ai with another incredible performance no one expected (at least before yesterday)
KTM was nowhere, they're gonna struggle to beat the Japanese.
Yamaha works team surprisingly had a much worse pace than Pramac.
Mir crashed in the second half of the race and not on lap 3. Credit where credit's due.
