Assen TT - Rnd 8 2015 - SPOILERS

Not everybody here fits that description. Lots of folks here hated him. He's a incoherent and puerile buffoonish troll. If I have to be brain dead drunk or painfully immature in order to "appreciate" him... I'll pass thanks. Some folks liked to see him wind people up - but it got ......' tired after the first few months.

As I recall you hated Mdub as well. He was the funniest bloke this forum has ever seen. Noone but you had a problem with him. Pull the stick out of your ... dude. The world needs goofballs

Seriously Marquez needs to get a race ban for this stupid ..... He purposely puts himself in a place to try and force a crash.

Replaying shows Marquez hits Rossis knee . Rossi was smarter than letting himself knocked off the bike.

guess MM tought he can pull that master move like Rossi did, but no he can't ... :D:D , only Rossi can survive those crazy MM moves

You have been on a different other forum than I have while this one has been in semi-abeyance for the last 2 years or so. I have been debating the infamous Wosi and a somewhat deranged Frenchman who claim that Jorge employs an heretical 250 derived style which takes GP bike racing away from the true path of light revealed by the great KRSR (they are correct about King Kenny being great if nothing else), and misdeveloped/debased the Yamaha so badly that Valentino couldn't beat him on the 2013 bike. They also claim that Rossi's style is characterised by sliding the bike whereas Jorge is too scared to do so.

I just watched the vid JPS posted of KR racing the stroker. Just from appeareance alone the style of that era did not look nearly as agressive as todays racers. I realize the skill set of riding those widowmakers was greater but those 20 degree lean angles look amateur compared to today

I guess that was a legit finish, not sure if Rossi made an effort to complete the final turn. Marquez did make contact, though, and Rossi was in the lead going into Geert-Timmer so I guess all's fair.

Good race overall. Finally get to see some proper GP racing. Run a comfortable pace. Keep your tires in good condition. Open the throttle with 5 to go, and keep turning up the wick until someone relents.

Yes, if he actually knocked Valentino into the dirt MM can't complain. Valentino might even be canny enough to have done it deliberately after the contact.

I'll take a third for Jorge as I said before the race, he survived Assen this year with podium points which may even have been his mindset going in, although Valentino definitely seems to have his measure if they are not on the soft tyre.

I never really saw him, I started watching when they started telecasting it in Australia which coincided with Wayne Gardner being competitive, and don't seek out replays although I will watch one if I stumble across it.

Everything seems to indicate that KR was fairly revolutionary though, and he won 3 titles on the bounce from his debut with no experience of the tracks in the first year. I don't think the technology of the time, particularly the tyre technology, would have allowed anyone to run modern lean angles etc.
