Assen TT - Rnd 8 2015 - SPOILERS

Hard tyre race. Valentino will win barring mishap.

The interest is whether Jorge is any better on the tyre than he was in the early season races. If he finishes 2nd or 3rd as Valentino has been doing when conditions favoured Jorge's tyre the championship is still on.

For all Lorenzo's protestations, it isn't massively dissimilar to the harder edge 'stones at Mugello this year.

Who needs a motogp video pass when we have Geonerd Video Industries?

Where the .... is Race Direction? Out to lunch with Kropaganda?

This t*****t site usually has MotoGP FP, Q, and Race sessions up within a few hours.

Just be sure to disable java script before visiting the site. I don't know that it serves anything malign, but there are plenty of pop-ups and other crap.

Race Direction? LOL... What's that?

Maybe I'm just getting caught up in the oh-so-awful Marc Murder Mayhem Marquez 'bashing' that infests this fine forum, but I'm honestly starting to feel anxiety regarding MM's riding. Upon arriving in MotoGP he actually calmed down fairly quickly but now, under pressure for the first time, he seems to have regressed to near-Moto2 levels of bravery/idiocy. As Simo's tragedy reminds us, you can only push your luck so many times before something Really ....... Bad happens.

We need Knockdown about as much as we need the plague. He's only funny to drunks and small children. Or small drunken children.
"Drunks and children"....oh man he would have a field day with that.

So...what you're saying is everybody would find him funny on Powerslide.

Well...I've been led to believe Marc has "evolved"....right Kesh? :)

I'm in London tomorrow...having to record it. Final year of the Saturday race tradition which is pleasing, but on the other hand it's a shame to see another quintessential slice of Assen lost through corporate interests.

It's 'only' as dissimilar as to change his lap time positions a few rungs lower. Hey, maybe I should switch sides, I could really make a good case the RCV chassis Marc has reverted too is helping him almost torpedo guys in practice again.

Nonetheless...the rubber is practically identical. Shame about the vagaries of Lorenzo's head.

Anyway more importantly Compa - and completely off topic, sod the RCV chassis, something far more interesting to emerge from the land of the rising sun - 4 year deal worth £7m...

Who is this bloke? Hope he plays better than he looks. The brother of the escort Pearson patroned in Thailand perhaps? Regardless, I hope he doesn't get in Vardy's way. Either way, I'll be rooting for him. If we keep our core (which basically means Cambiawesome) we should be mid table. That's were I think we should aim. 5 year plan to the Champions League.

Not everybody here fits that description. Lots of folks here hated him. He's a incoherent and puerile buffoonish troll. If I have to be brain dead drunk or painfully immature in order to "appreciate" him... I'll pass thanks. Some folks liked to see him wind people up - but it got ......' tired after the first few months.

Although in some quarters Jorge's smooth riding style has been derided as namby-pamby, I think this is something concerning which Kropotkin is correct, and that it is in reality quite an extreme phenomenon, as demonstrated by him beating Rossi in his current form in 4 successive races, and he hence needs full confidence to apply the butter hammer, particularly at Assen.

As a Jorge fan I would take a 3rd place result gleefully, as I suspect would he.

Tho not a fan per se, I agree with you. Why it is that racers can't simply be respected for their talent at winning races, without being denigrated for not having a sufficiently macho style of racing is beyond me. Actually... it's not. People forget his first two years and his totally thrilling battles with Rossi - and get so hung up on his lame post-victory extravaganzas. Rossi's were really just as puerile. Lorenzo doesn't have much of a personality - but I'm not interested in being his friend - I just want to see the guy race. I feel the same way about Rossi.

Lorenzo 's style has been derided as sissy? News to me.

You have been on a different other forum than I have while this one has been in semi-abeyance for the last 2 years or so. I have been debating the infamous Wosi and a somewhat deranged Frenchman who claim that Jorge employs an heretical 250 derived style which takes GP bike racing away from the true path of the light revealed by the great KRSR (they are correct about King Kenny being great if nothing else), and misdeveloped/debased the Yamaha so badly that Valentino couldn't beat him on the 2013 bike. They also claim that Rossi's style is characterised by sliding the bike whereas Jorge is too scared to do so.
