Assen TT - Rnd 8 2015 - SPOILERS

Where's Jumkie? I need his hot ....... take.

The take away seems obvious. People followed the conventional wisdom that HRC are always screwing up their own bikes as they did during they days of Spencer, Gardner, Doohan, and even Rossi (to an extent).

They don't understand that Nakamoto is a plain spoken Japanese executive who was put in charge of HRC to make changes.

I once opined that every HRC press release was a lie. Since Nakamoto, everything seems to be reported plainly with little or no ulterior motive. When he said the engine wasn't the problem and the bike wasn't broken, he wasn't toeing the company line like his predecessors. The RCV was simply not broken, and they needed a bit of time to make some adjustments for the tires.

Not spectacular hyperbole like Jumkie, but he'll be along eventually.

What a fascinating top 4

Hahaha, yeah I know. Apart from the qualifying tire and extra liters of fuel, the top 4 have been the top 4 machines just about...well always.

Where is JohnnyKnockdown when you need him? Here is a prediction: the top 4 will be some combination of factory Honda/Yamaha or Yamaha/Honda.

Is it too early to blame it on a shitload of cash Honda has spent?

Look closely at the picture. Honda have outsourced their bikes that had design flaws to Yamaha. Which of course explains why they are 1-2 on the lap times today.

Clearly, the Honda engine is terrible and the RCV barely works. Poor Marquez.

Well, there is a simple and quite clever physical explanation, Marquez has shackled his arm behind his back. It doesn't take a rocket appliance to understand this really has improved the aerodynamics for the RCV.

...he feels shackled, fighting with one hand behind his back. Krop Twain

FP3 results, I assume by the laptimes the track was dry:

It was dry at start...it rained for 10 minutes.....then it dried up quickly....

Just the sort of conditions that make people like Lorenzo nervous....:)

Makes me wish they still had a tyre war. Who remembers the final winter season test showdown at Jerez each Feb where the fastest guy won a BMW?

God that was awesome.
