2024 Round 14: Gran Premio Pramac dell’Emilia-Romagna - Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

I figure Pecco will be on pole...I think he has unbelievable speed this weekend, so I can't see him not being on pole unless he makes a mistake.
Great call.
He absolutely steamrolled it, GP24 lockout as well.

Improved showing from the KTMs, maybe they’re turning a corner?

Marquez’s crash cost him dearly. It’ll be an uphill battle the rest of this week.

Muted performance from Aprilia, but at least it’s better than the last time around?

Quartararo is easily the rider of the weekend so far. One of the best; if not the best rider pound-for-pound on the grid.

Another bad quali by Marc, confidence dented by the crashes? This is why he's not in real championship contention as he said before. The GP24s are so much better in terms of one-lap pace. Grats to Bagnaia for a monster lap and the pole, with help of Morbidelli, but this doesn't detract from his blistering speed. Let's see if Enea can fight for the win tomorrow.

Acosta does not look happy.

Outqualified by Bezzecchi on the same bike.

I feel like Martin's title chances are just bleeding out now. It feels like death by a thousand cuts for him. We will see what happens in the Sprint, and in the GP tomorrow, but I can easily see Pecco leaving Misano back in the points lead.

I wonder if the KTM's have made progress or if it is just a post-testing boost that won't carry forward to Indonesia next weekend.

Marquez I thought did himself in also by trying to follow The Beast. He gets on way better when he just goes out there and does his thing on his own. It feels like every single time he gets involved in following his qualy sessions go to ..... Maybe someone should tell him?

An Italian friend of mine and I were talking about Aprilia last night, he threw out the idea of what if Aleix finishes ahead of Mav heading into retirement? He's only down 20 points at the moment. Not an insurmountable task by any means. I think Mav would fry out if that happens. So I admit to being petty at times, I am hoping it happens. 🤣 I did ask him if he could go visit Aprilia and ask technical questions about their bike. He declined sadly lol.

Fabio on that Aprilia would have been incredible. I wish that had happened. He deserves far better than this M1 project that no one knows if it will work out or not. But I guess nothing like millions of Euros to feel better about life decisions.

It’s a hard watch now for sure, but I’m confident that they’ll turn the ship around. I haven’t seen Yamaha iteratively improve this much since maybe 2004. In many ways, it feels like the early days of post Gigi Ducati.

As for the V4, companies sometimes have to break dogmas to move ahead. Ducati did it with the V4, trellis-> carbon-> aluminum frame, KTM did it with trellis-> twin spar-> carbon, and so on. Sometimes you just have to show up with different tools because the game has moved on.
