Jörg would have made the ultimate statement with a win in Peccoland. Still, he resisted all the pressure until Enea pulled that chickenshit move.
Both Jörg and Frantisek are showing nerves. Bagnaia is still the favorite to me but it really could go either way.
Heck, I wouldn't have expected Jörg to keep it open for that long.

Fabio somehow lost two spots on the final lap, 7th is still a result he could only dream of a month ago.

On a serious note;

Begrudgingly acknowledge Bastianini’s last lap move. Looks like Martin and the stewards do as well. Not the cleanest, but it is still racing.

Martin puts the demons of Misano1 in the past. He deserved to win today, but the 2nd place is still very good for his championship quest.

Bagnaia continues the unflattering record of unforced errors while in a championship chase. Looks like he had some setup issues, but he had a 3rd place in the bag, which would have been the smart decision for the championship.

M. Marquez profits from the carnage. He didn’t have the pace to take on Acosta or Bagnaia today, but he made the most of what happened ahead of him. Smart ride.

Penny for the thoughts of Acosta and Binder who are writing checks that Mattighofen can’t cash.

Bez should be buoyed by today’s ride. Slowly getting back to where he should be.

Quartararo once again with a fantastic ride above and beyond what’s expected of him.

Ok race in general, will be remembered more for the championship dynamics than on track action.

I have to think some more about this move...

My initial reaction is it wasn't necessary at all.

But Jorge really got good results regardless, and with Pecco crashing out yet again under pressure, my estimation of him is waffling back and forth. Don't take that to mean I think he is a bad rider or some ..... like that. But he really seems to thrive on creating the worst possible situations for himself.

No issue with Enea’s move. Last lap divebomb. If Marquez or Rossi made that move (which they have), everyone would have creamed themselves.
Marginal perhaps, but Bastianini had very little to lose and Martin quite a lot, so with Bagnaia out and Bastianini so close perhaps settling for second would have been a smart move. He got that result and was probably happy enough post race but both of them going out would not have been a good result.

Quiz time:-

Who was the last factory rider to be sacked whilst in championship contention and went on to win at least one gp?
Gigi: “Er… Ciao Herr Audi. Just wanted to inform you that we won our 100th race with a GP24 and won the 2024 constructors championship”.

Herr Audi: “Wunderbar, which rider won”?

Gigi: “Er… the one we fired”

Herr Audi: “Ok who was second”?

Gigi: “The other guy we fired”

Herr Audi: “The guy we are paying 10 million a year was at least 3rd ja?”

Gigi: “No he crashed out”.

Herr Audi: “VERDAMMTE SCHEISSE!!!!<€~>|^}%{€{>{€”
Neil Hodgson pre race quote,
“Jorge Martins got nothing to bring today” 😩

Just watched it, late to the party. It was a dive bomb. Impressed by Jorge Martins ability to handle it publicly off the bike.
Again, wish I could understand Spanish and Italian, as they watched the overtake pre podium.
Uncomfortable being in front of the camera like that but they seemed civil and polite at least.
Pecco was flying. He would be angry with himself.

Honda must have found something after all.
Mir and Marini finished 11th and 12th, this is the most points Repsol has scored in a single race since Marc left.
Marini has quintupled his previous amount of points and passed Bradl in the standings, this race has given me hope he might make it past Pedrosa and Pol before seasons end.
They also overtook Raul and Jack during the race, just a shame no one knows how because the cameras never show anything happening behind the Top 5.
