They just announced that on the Aussie stream. Incredible really when I saw the way he landed and how much his body twisted I though something had to be broken or torn. He's probably still out though, I would be surprised if he was able to pass a concussion test.

I can't fathom that he will participate any further this weekend.

By Rossi fans. So the original post should have been "Rossi fans are as classy as ever".

Get over it. Marquez is universal hated everywhere in the world and not only by Rossi fans but also Lorenzo, Dovi, Espargaro, Vinales fans etc because he's a dirty rider with zero charisma. Who else get booed on home soil.

Somewhat oddly, and I am sure entirely coincidentally, pretty much every rider over the last 20 odd years who has ever rivalled, and particularly beaten, Rossi has turned out to be a rider of low character deserving of being booed, spat on, sent back to WSBK etc. When it was Stoner his character defect was the opposite of MM’s, he was widely condemned by the same fans for not liking hard racing.

Some might draw the conclusion that Rossi fans are completely hypocritical.

I don't want to open old discussions, especially with everything that happened with Michele, (which brought home just how much these guys risk every time they go out on track), but Marc certainly isn't devoid of Charisma, I've seen him on plenty of shows where he was the life and soul, even when not speaking in his mother tongue.
I don't consider him deliberately dirty, but he has made mistakes through over enthusiasm that have cost other riders points.
Him being booed is the same reason Casey got booed, because of Vale.
And on the subject of Vale, if you ever want a pristine example of deliberate dirty riding, then look no further than Sepang 15.

Sorry for going off topic, this should be about Mugello, so I'm happy to discuss in another, more appropriate, thread.

Edited to add apologies for repeating what Michael said, he beat me to the draw and, as always, was infinitely better at it than me.

Pirro's injuries, as of now, seem to be:

Commotional head injury
Right shoulder dislocation (fixed in the medical center already).
Thoracic trauma
Lumbar trauma

Horrific crash. Let's hope he'll be alright

RC, how much of these lap records might we contribute to the progression of the GP bike? ( improved power delivery, Aero package, chassis and swingarm development, etc.)

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

Impossible to know, given the custom nature of the machinery and tyres, but I guess some rough measure could be made by looking at the performance of the Bridgestones at Valencia 15, then the Michelins the next day when the test commenced. IIRC, the Michelins were a little quicker.

Glad I didn’t see it. Vague terminology, several of those things could be serious, but hopefully are not.

I think he has shown signs of both being thoughtful and having a sense of humour, and I wasn’t a fan back in his Murder Marc days.

I am a bike racing fan, and his riding is sufficiently charismatic for me in any case, just as Stoner’s was.

A good point, if so many MotoGP riders were breaking records at every track. Fact remains, it was on the newly resurfaced track where there was a spike of record breaking laps.

Yep, but I used these terms to make it clear that (apparently) no bones are broken. I really hope that's true.

If you watch the youtube where him and his crew chief are watching all the races of 2017 and commenting on each race you can see he is a nice normal guy.

I can find the link if you don't know which video I mean.

Possibly has been taken down from youtube at dorna's request.
To say Marquez isn't charismatic is ridiculous but the kind of behaviour you expect from Rossi fans grasping at straws.

Ol' Paps is a longtime hater of anything not Rossi. Can't take anything he says seriously. I found MM a bit creepy during his time in Moto 2 and his first year in the big leagues, but he was just kind of shy, not really used to the attention. Now he really does seem like the usual happy-go-lucky kid.

At least they pay to do it where as the Rossi haters do their hating online for free.

Which one is worse? The one that hates a behavior of a specific person for free online but does not boo at that person on a podium and neither cheers when the that person falls/gets hurt or the one that hates so much that they even pay to hate on booes riders on the podiums and cheers when they fall and possibly get hurt?

I see in your quoted text the bit about paying. Money makes everything okay.
The grotesque idea of money and power triumphing over ethics and morals.

Hey don't blame me, I'm not the one booing. Go back and read what I post. Most fans of other riders don't like MM too. Casey was rarely ever booed outside of Italy and maybe Spain. Casey never got boo in his home race.

Marc gets booed whenever he's introduced on the podium. He was even boo in your country. Face the fact, he's a dirty rider with a long history of crashes into other riders and those say he have any personality are full of it. Sepang and Valencia 2015 where he refused to attempt a pass on Lorenzo was the ice on cake. It's a competition between Jorge and Marc to who has less fans and the least charisma. Doesn't matter how many titles he win, he has zero personality and the least fans. In fact, his only fans seem to be the couple dozen here who despise Rossi.

I may not have been paying enough attention, but I wouldn't go that far. They break lap records consistently. I think they have some QC problems, and the front isn't as good as the Bridgestone front, but the rear is universally praised as better than the Bridgestone rear.

""Another defective tyre, it happens too often. It feels as if on Fridays they bring tyres that have been used in other grands prix and they are not good. It confuses you and annoys you a bit."

Also, Dovi got a .... tire
