Win? Lol no. He had great pace when he passed Slowlenzo, so a top 10 between 5-10 easy.
Lorenzo was ahead of Rossi when Rossi decided to plough into Mir.

What a cracking race!!
Shame for Miller to go down, might have lost the potential factory ride right there.
That last lap turn 1 was epic. How the three continued? I don't know.
This sport just gets beter and better.
Rins & Suzuki are coming. To be so close at Mugello!
Vinales won on it a few times in 2017.That yama has been .... since 2017.

After watching this several times I'd conclude without Petrucci's move there was 50/50 between Marc and Dovi. Maybe Dovi had even a better chance to come out as a winner. Thanks to Petrucci Dovi was firmly out of contention.- Dovi was PISSED at Danilo's gnarly overtake, which caused me one of the very rare moments of not being on Dovi's side...win and lose with your chin up, Danilo just wanted it more badly than anyone else today.

I think Yamaha hit the ground running in 2017 with a bike Viñales was more than happy on. Rossi bitched and moaned until he got the tyre he wanted which made yamahas results worse at which point he got the chassis he had demanded and again their results got worse.
Rossi in particular has blamed everything on the bike other than himself, first it was the tyres when that made things worse it was the chassis when that didn’t work then it was the electronics and Yamahas failure to ‘trick’ the electronics like Honda and Ducati allegedly were. Now that ‘loophole’ has been fixed by the rules and nothing’s changed it’s the engine. While it’s true they’re handicapped by their engine if tomorrow they fixed it and had the same top speed as Ducati it would then be something else when his results didn’t come.
My stance on the issue is simple, Viñales was never the second coming of Lorenzo, the issues that plague him now where there at Suzuki even when he was fighting with Aleix. Rossi at 40 is no longer at his best, Rossi at his best was inferior to both Stoner and Lorenzo as the h2h results show. Marquez is head and shoulders above Lorenzo as the results show. During his ‘development god’ phase Yamaha had a brilliant engineer, Burgess and Rossi was having tyres made to his specs. The biggest hinderance to Rossi’s career has been a control tyre that is decided by a vote from the riders. Yamahas failure came when Jarvis put Rossi before Lorenzo. Rossi has nowhere to go other than Yamaha all Jarvis had to do was have Lorenzo sign a contract before offering Rossi one, instead he offered contract to them both at the same time and showed Lorenzo that despite winning their last 3 titles he wasn’t the one they really wanted.
Ducati now have a brilliant engineer who has methodically improved their bike to the stage where it is now the best bike on the grid. While their bike doesn’t love turning like the Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki it is making up for that by braking and acceleration. The added bonus of that is it makes their bike hard to stick a pass on. All this has happened while their riders didn’t ..... and moan at every inconvenience.
Honda have Marquez who’s ability is otherworldly and managed to win titles on bikes that shouldn’t have been capable (16&17). Honda have worked on their weak points even when their strongest point (braking) suffered. All this happened while their riders didn’t ..... and moan at every inconvenience.
This is racing. And as every rider always says, your teammate is always your first rival. Petrucci wanted to win and tried everything to do so, I can't blame him.
I'm a huge Dovi fan and as much as I like Petrux I'd generally prefer to see Dovi winning, but I didn't see anything wrong in what Danilo did.
This is bs, Dovi had to stop as a result of this and give up the fight, his race was over.Last but not least: IF Dovi had something on Marquez he would have gotten second in front of him and not third behind him..
You say it as I was blaming Petrucci. I do not blame anyone, I'm merely stating the facts.

Dovi almost sounds entitled about Petrucci’s pass. From Danilos words it sounds a lot like all Ducati riders are expected to help Dovi even if that means giving him a position. Petrucci said something like ‘for the rest of the season I will help Dovi but I really wanted to win this one.’ Mapping 8 anyone? Because of that I fee that Dovi and Ducati should go .... themselves.
Danilo would never let Dovi pass? He has a history of doing so. Rewatch ValenciaNah it ain't like that, it's just that a part of the box is probably a bit pissed about losing a few points to Marquez. Dovi was pissed mainly cause he knows that he could have won but got 3rd.
Petrucci talked about helping Dovi since the beginning of the season. Not sure if you know but Petrux moved to Forlì (the place where Dovi hails from and lives) to train with him after Dovi kinda invited him to do so. The two are very close, as much as you can be given their jobs positions obviously.
Lorenzo and the map8 thing happened simply because Jorge couldn't stand to obey anyone nor to act like a "second" rider, but shouldn't you in a similar situation help a team that is paying you 12.5mln per year to try to win a title?
ALL Ducati wants is a title, the only Ducati rider who currently seems able to aim at a title is Dovizioso. It is obvious that in any team there are some sort of internal "rules" to face certain situations, as much as I don't like it myself, racing is ALSO a business...that being said Danilo did what he had to. He'd never let Dovi pass or anything, he probably just got told to be a little bit more careful with aggressive overtakes in the future. Ducati simply doesn't want another Rio 2016.
Nothing more nor less than that IMHO.
Of course it was racing. Petrucci saw the door ajar and went for it. Nothing wrong here. You didn't expect him to take out the measuring tape and check if there is enough space for Dovi between himself and Marc, did you? Well, there wasn't and Dovi did the only safe thing he could do, he let them go. Then again, with Crazy Joe approach there would have been a nice crash, maybe all three of them out, or at least two, We will never know ...
