2018 Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley

a few mentions here

1 from the time lorenzo left 2017 till now rossi and lorenzo have the same win total. so if lorenzo is so bad how bad is rossi?

2 lorenzo now has 100% more wins on the ducati than rossi every will.

3 it took dovi almost 4 years to win a race on the ducati took lorenzo 1.5 years to win the same race

4 if dovi didnt win 6 races last year would we be having a lorenzo discussion?

as a bike, the Ducati has improved exponentially since the days of Rossi, thanks in large part to Gigi. for several seasons that bike suffered from massive issues causing the front tire to wash out.

1. And Lorenzo would have put the bike rossi yamaha on the top step regularly.

2. Your maths is off. 100% of zero is zero. To be correct you should say Lorenzo is infinitely better than rossi on the Duc.

Was wrong on this one. Capirossi won on the Yamaha, Honda and Ducati in the premier class.

He won on a Honda and a Ducati, not on a Yamaha as far as I know.

They actually said on the broadcast Jorge was the only one to win for Yamaha and Ducati, which is correct to my recollection. I looked it up and Loris did ride a Yamaha 500 for 1 year, but did not win.

True. Imagine how competitive Stoner would have been on the current Ducati. ;)

1996 he rode for Yamaha and won in Australia.

You do realize that Rossi score zero points in Argentina after being rammed off the track while Vinales score 11? Keep trying to spin it anyway you like. You and others have been wrong on Maverick putting Rossi in his pocket.

Yes, I both have good eyesight and can count. That incident actually resulted in a net points gain for Rossi vs MM, he was likely going to finish 4th or 5th which proves my point about consistency rather than truly competitive pace, and was an error of judgement as far as his total points tally was concerned ie vs Vinales because MM who was a second a lap faster and had caught him up by 9 seconds was inevitably going to pass him on the next corner if not that one.

If you score no points you score no points. If you want to argue that the incident at Argentina was deliberate on his part to stop MM getting further ahead in the points I might consider that as an argument.

Standings in the championship have traditionally been decided by the points tallies at the end of the season, btw.

I had to have a google as well. Interesting little fact though, he must be one of very few riders to have won a race on three makes of bikes.

Eddie Lawson is the only other who springs to mind in the modern era.

Just catching up. Lorenzo won the tire gamble at the best time and place, big race win. The tank modification looks like it helped with fatigue. Too bad it looks like he'll be back at Yamaha with tail tucked firmly between Rossi's legs. I wonder how long the transparent love fest between Jlo/Vr will last. Rossi shook hands with Jlo in the same way he shook hands with Marc at Catalunya, he dud it because he was happy to be on the unexpected podium.

Marquez will not eclipse records riding bin or win, longevity matters and given Rossi's career has been artificially padded and extended, Marc will have to dial down his approach to the one he utilized last year. In his haste to stick it to Rossi he handed him a podium.

Dovi is aware he made the wrong tire choice.

Why wasn't Cuntslow penalized? Isn't the "new" Racing Dereliction on top of rider "safety"? ........ explanations as usual, "safety" is a situational proposition, the .... is an absolute farce. You are either dowling on the racing line or you're not.

Michelin are .....

Suzuki is lame.

KTM is a waste of money.

Aprilia, the new old Ducati.

It should also be said of Lorenzo's win, at least he didn’t quit like Rossi and Quitslow.

Also, thank Dog Pirro lived from that stunning crash. Jesus H mothafucken Christ, what happened there?

Oh and...let's Stoner some credit for developing a winning bike. Not to mention coaching Lorenzo and Dovi by showing them.

Hit a bump causing brake pads to float. Panicked and grabbed too much brake... you know the rest.

Kudos to Stoner for offering his insight and Lorenzo and Dovi for being big enough to listen to it.

“I’m telling you, once you use a carbon fishing rod, you won’t go back”!

“Whatever, Casey. Can I just go out and ride now”?

I just watched Pirro's crash again. ....!

Please make leather air suits mandatory. We have the technology.

On another note, I wasn't fawning over Marc's almost save, I was cringing all the way hoping the front wouldn't catch and bring him back onto the hot track.

Sure fans can be ....., I'm one of them, but at the end of the day these guys bring us joy, even if it's in the form of them getting beat by 'our' guy.

Marquez had admitted earlier in the weekend he "didn't like" the "strange" front tyre allocation available in Mugello - and said after the race that his costly crash was down to him having to race the hard front compound.

Mishitlin.
