2018 Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley

Apologies to Jakrap - I was convinced that both factory Ducatis had run the soft front. Perhaps my original point should have been that the softer option was always going to favour Lorenzo over Dovi.

A very counter intuitive weekend though in which the hard front was actually deemed softer than the medium due to its asymmetry. Completely crucified Pedrosa.

It is on the live timing during the race but doesn’t seem to be available on Dorna’s site post race which is strange. My memory is that Jorge was on a medium front and soft rear though. Dovi said he himself made the wrong tire choice post race.

Thanks Mike.

If the factory Yams beating the satellite team makes him feel smug, leave him to it. It really shouldn't have taken this long, but the gap is going to grow as Yamaha's support drops now that Tech3 have signed to KTM.

On the Lorenzo win numbers, I make it one more win on a Duke than the supposed GOAT managed in 2 years. I'm sure that the cries of "different bike" won't be long, which are true. However a lot of development done by a rider that supposedly couldn't develop .... seems to have played a massive part in the team's success.

Weird how he so quickly sorted an unfixable bike.

In those two years there were so many salty tears in the Yellow Custard grandstands that Dorna made them wear Depends.

Jorge Lorenzo today: "Non si può confrontare la mia esperienza in Ducati con quella di Rossi: sono epoche diverse, la ducati ora è più competitiva mentre quella di Rossi era più complicate".

"I can't compare my experience in Ducati with Rossi's; they were two different eras, the Ducati is more competitive now whereas Rossi's Ducati was more complicated".

You have suddenly and surprisingly become rather naive if you think Zarco and Tech 3 are going to get strongly supported by Yamaha for the rest of this season as has been said.

Tech 3 has always received last year’s bike and that was that. There has never been any “Support” from Yamaha after they wheel the bikes in after Valencia.

The 2018 aero and upped revs that Zarco has are already more “Support” than he usually would have received. But keep grasping at straws.

I imagine you're probably right.
I imagine that there would have been a lot of staunch defense of him by certain folk.
I imagine we'd be told that's racing.

But it's only my imagination so I'm maybe wrong.

You mean exactly like everyone has done for MM so far?

Yes exactly.
But if you defend your man when he ..... up and complain when someone else does, don't cry when others do it for their rider.

As I pointed out as well, 2 of MM's biggest critics admitted, very quickly and quietly, that they got it wrong when crying foul.

Good editing on the quote, missing out where I said exactly that straight after the part you quoted. Well done.

I notice that you also missed out the part regarding a cetain rider playing a major part in it's development, when we were all told for years he couldn't develop ...., it was his fault the bike was .... and only 2 men could save it.
Looks like it has finally been developed.

False premise, Reefer Dogg. When did I defend my man when he ...... up? Who is 'my man' supposed to be? Or are you creating a strawman?

So why make the point if it's negated by your next sentence? Is it because you know it's a silly point?

Who is that certain rider? It'd help if you didn't write so cryptically. Stoner? Stoner is awesome and undoubtedly is a really helpful test rider, as is Pirro. Dall'Igna takes the most credit, though.

I imagine Messrs Huewan & Hodgson wouldn't have been so quick to cry foul before backtracking quietly and brushing over the fact they thought they got it wrong.

But it's only my imagination so I'm maybe wrong.

You’re definitely not imagining this
