It amazes me that Aussies dont play hockey. They'd be so good at the fight part

Mate, most of our sports have become soft

In league, you are not in deep .... if you punch someone so they slap instead ...... kid not

Plus, they have removed the good old shoulder charge

As for Jack, bah, push in the back ............. weak .......... face to face or not at all, even if it is Bautista

What do we have here? A random internet poster thinks he knows about issues with the M1 than Maverick Vinales.

I think he is probably correct though.

This is the problem with yours and JKant's whole line of argument regarding the control tyre.

Unless a "level" playing field is going to result from random capricious tyre failures, the control tyre will eventually favour the big teams as JPS has argued by analogy with what occurred in F1, they, and particularly Honda, even if tyres are unfavourable to them have more money to throw at chassis re-design/replacement and electronics techs, and are more able to adapt as they seem to have done after only 3 races this season; even Yamaha mostly seem to have only 1 chassis design for each year.

On balance, I think I will still go with his (Maverick's) opinion over yours, particularly since he has ridden the tyre and you haven't. I think I would take my chances with Einstein over you in regard to a physics matter as well.

I declare that I was right: Zarco should have a factory bike. In fact he should have Rossi's bike. Whoops. :p Don't want to get beat up too bad, so I will just say he should have had the Suzuki ride. He looks so good out there and crashes LESS than Cal. Amazing. I like watching him - A LOT!!!!

Obviously, the Honda is working a lot better. And to see one of these Pedrosa dominations again leads me to believe that MM is the one to beat again. Push come to shove, he will beat Dani, for sure, and if the bikes are close to equal he will beat both factory Yamaha riders. It should be a good year with JLo getting his act together. I am excited about it all!!!!!

I know having a nuanced view of pretty much anything is foreign to your ken, but it is possible for more than 1 thing to be simultaneously true, in this case that the Michelins are problematic, which is only what I have been arguing since the start of last season, including in a previous post-race post in this thread, in the face of vehement disagreement from you for one, that getting the tyre best suited to track conditions for this race to work was problematic with the 2017 Yamaha chassis, and that HRC have made a step, whether by chassis adjustment, electronics development or other means.

Let's just remember before we get ahead of ourselves that it was one round. Jerez for at least the last two years has been a bit of an anomaly due to conditions. If there is similar domination or even real competitiveness across all areas at LeMans then we can conclude that Honda has made a giant leap forward. If they have done we might as well write M. Marquez on the 2017 trophy now.

Oh and I see a harder tyre coming, if Pedrosa struggles with the hard front because it's too soft then the hard tyre is too soft.

Acceptable front tyre wear?

As we know, the tyres are all good and consistent

Check the acceptable wear on Valentino Rossi's tyre at race end - no wonder he struggled a tad

Do you have a better picture of Rossi's tyre Gaz? That one's slightly out of focus and it's difficult to see the wear of the tyre.

That is the only one I have found - will keep an eye out for a more high def pic but expect them to be very difficult to come by - reckon we got a little lucky with this one actually as usually they are well under wraps (suspect a possible message behind it actually)

But will see what is around

Cheers Gaz, it's difficult to see what's damage, wear or even shadow or debris picked up on the slow down lap.
I agree that pic was probably leaked on purpose to support Rossi's crusade for changing to a stiffer carcass, which I have no problem with as long as the softer one remains accessible for those who want it.
Am I being over suspicious that a professional photographer couldn't get a properly focused picture, when normally they can spot and capture perfectly a celeb's nipple from 2 miles away?

I thought it was a great race. So happy that Pedro got his name into the record books to win the 3000th race and aww, even a little bit of something-in-his-eye on the podium. Great stuff.

Excellent showing from Lorenzo though it'll be a bit hit and miss for a while yet, I think.

I've never fully understood the conspiracy theory of Rossi and tyres but don't events like yesterday suggest there is no such thing?

Neither factory yamaha did particularly special and Maverick looks a bit huffy about it all.

Crashy returned to form.

Miller and Bautista!!! Did Miller not know Bautista's mum was with him this weekend... should have thought twice about pushing him over. Gotta love a two handed tantrum shove, though. (my better half said immediately after it "imagine the backlash if that had been Lorenzo pushing someone"). Miller will style it out, no bother.

Watched the Moto3 and Moto2 as well. Moto3 is awesome!

I found he Jack/Alvaro incident quite funny. no so much the push and the waving of hands about and most likely yelling. More the turn around and kicking of Alvaro's bike and his reaction to it really got me laughing.

Alvaro: What for you kick my dog and call him .... off?
